I have readjusted my Calorie Goal to be for the weight of 117 which is my "ideal weight" according to the charts for my height of 5'1.5" with a large frame. So this is now the number I aim to eat daily, 1823 calories.
Since I burn 300+ calories daily, I feel quite safe going up to 2000 daily.
So far it is working with a very small weight change daily!
**edit 6/6: My weight climbed up to 125.8 but then it started coming down again. Today 124.4 so I am on the move! I also walked 6.5 miles this morning! First time for such a long walk! Cathy said, "do you want to go to the mile marker?" and since we tease each other daily I returned, "I will if you will," but today she meant it! So we added another 1/2 mile!! And survived!! Feels great!

Well, the obvious answer is my clothes fit now.
But really this question digs deeper into my soul.
I had a really good self-image of the real me, the one living inside my shell. I am an honest and trustworthy person with confidence in my own abilities.
Weight loss has changed my outer shell and now I believe I walk with a better outward appearance, like an "I can do this, I did this!" attitude. I love when people stop me and ask me if I lost weight, but I love it because it gives me a chance to not only say yes, but to tell them how to do it too!
The questions I am asked most often are, How, How Long and Did you lose it by walking? The last is the difficult question because walking helped a lot, but walking didn't make me lose weight. Counting calories is how I lost weight, walking is how I burned extra calories to help me lose weight.
Back to the question, how has weight loss changed my life? I now make more intelligent selections of my foods and am eating so much healthier that I feel like I am glowing inside and out! And even on the days I don't feel like exercising I do still get in my walking. I feel better after a good long walk or an exercise session.
Weight loss has given me back my life!

At 210, I definitely experienced Obesity and can relate to others still living with it. My goal in life is similar to SparkPeople's in that I would love to help anyone looking to take off this extra poundage.

I am leaving my goal as 119 but I am satisfied with 125 so I decided to change up my calorie range to stay at 125. I think I can be happy with 1730-2080 calories.
But, I am going to try to eat the calories daily for 119 pounds! 1836 daily plus whatever calories I am burning. This will still give me 2000+ calories to eat daily and allow my body to become accustomed to the proper range and maybe even still drop a pound or six.
I went back up to 125 from 123 this past week but I measured today and I have lost inches everywhere. On average 1/2" in arms, thighs, calves, waist, hips and bust. So the strength training is obviously taking some effect on my body.
I am back up to 5+ miles for my morning walk and want to go back to the WATP videos as I really think my body seemed to feel and look better with the shrinkage. And they are just so much fun!
As I learn about Maintenance, I will share the information. I have heard a few tell me it is difficult but I prefer to go into this with an open mind and positive thinking. If I could lose 85 lbs, I can certainly learn how to keep it off.

I don't know what reminded me, but years ago at an Overeaters Anonymous meeting we were given an unofficial diet to follow if we chose to. Unofficial because just like SparkPeople, OA will not tell you what program or diet to follow.
Anyway, I remember asking how many calories in some vegetable and I can still hear this really sweet person saying, "There are less calories in the worst vegetable than in the best of the junk food."
What a mouthful then, and it still works today.
The worst fruits and vegetables are still lower in calories than that donut!

Because for some of us it is habit, but for too many it is addiction. This is an inside peek at what drug addicts and alcoholics probably go through every minute of every day.
I don't know about you, but this gives me the strength to say to myself, "no more!"
