3 Square meals does make a difference!

the pounds are stubborn this time of year - but I know if I stay on track, they will move!

I went back to "square meals" and I believe I am eating more but eating less! WooHoo!!

Even so, the weight is stubborn so I do believe Winter has something to do with it.

Stay strong sparkers - you are worth the extra effort!!

**by "square meals" I mean freggies and protein at every meal - filling, satisfying and less calories equals a successful program.

I buy Salmon Filets from Walmarts - I know it isn't the best salmon but you get 4 pieces frozen for $5 and each portion is 100 calories. It is "wild catch from China" so I know it isn't choice quality - but I do get fish-protein and it's only 100 calories! (even tuna is more than that) I eat 1 cup of mixed veggies (you remember them - the bag says mixed vegetables - $1 per pound) and it's very satisfying!

Some fruit for dessert and I find I don't get hungry after dinner.

Munchie? Yes. Hungry? No.

***thank you PattySpencer - now at least I do know it is Pacific Salmon even if it is shipped to China for packaging. While not "catch of the day", I started noticing at Sam's Club that even the fresh Salmon is pink (not red) and has food coloring added! What's up with that? and at $8 pound too! and shipped in from Chile!!

I actually buy the Walmart not so much for price as for ease in being individually portioned and all the portions at 100 calories! I do make sure it is thoroughly cooked as well (thank goodness for the microwave!). Thank you for sharing your concerns with us!

    I recently found some individual packaged tiiapia and found it very user friendly. Love the idea of defrosting only what is needed, NIFTY idea

    I love salmon! I have to say that I only shop at Wal-Mart any more when I am forced into it! I know it's less expensive, but I'm doing my best to support local businesses. I'm glad their salmon is good, though! Yummy! emoticon emoticon

    Sounds like a winning plan. I know when I stick to 3 meals it makes a difference for me. And the Wal-Mart salmon may not be the best but I love it. In fact we are having it to night with brown rice and mixed veggies.

    emoticon A sound plan of action!! You GO girl!!!!! Move as much as you can and all will be well!! This is NOT my favorite time of the year b/c I just want to curl up in a blanket and try to stay warm. BUT! Friction causes heat and I know if I just move around a bit (even marching in place) will warm me up right quick. (And burn a few calories!)

    Exactly! I love feeling full...that's why I choose wisely as you are to get my veggies, fruit and protein in. I eat 3 meals and 3 snacks most days. Try not to go more than 3 hours without eating a little something. emoticon

    Adding pounds in the winter is a genetic thing that goes back to the cave man - it helped them go through harsh winters when food was scarce. Apparently our DNA hasn't caught up with the 21st century - lol

On your salmon - altho I don't eat fish much I looked into what you said - WalMark + cheap salmon + wild catch + China. At first my thought went to my thoughts on how healthy any food from China could be with their history of lead in items so I dug a little more and found this info from Self.com - http://www.self.com/fooddiet/blogs/

Maybe the above combination when buying salmon isn't the best even if it is the cheapest. But then again since I don't buy fish what do I know. That being said - my son buys his fresh packaged fish at Kroger but I haven't looked at the packaging on that (something I should probably do but he'd probably not listen to me anyway)

Coach_Nicole's newest 28 Day Bootcamp Video

I was one of 250 SP members to win a free 28 Day Bootcamp Video - the only stipulation was that I must blog my review of it after giving it a decent trial run.

First off, I really like the professionalism Coach_Nicole shows from the Introduction through the workouts. She speaks clearly, plainly and slow enough to know what she is saying.

Did I have trouble keeping up? In a nutshell, yes! I am not in shape emoticon
Do I think it is a decent workout? Again, yes! emoticon
Was I able to do it? emoticon Not exactly emoticon
Did I mention I am out of shape? emoticon

Ok, now to tell you the rest of the story. This is no more difficult than me trying to follow the various steps in "sweatin to the oldies" - it is just different than anything I have tried before. With time and repetition, it will get easier to do and there is plenty of challenge to keep it as a great workout for a very long time.

Since losing the weight, I can no longer jump - at all. It hurts - a lot! However, I can raise up on my toes and at least it almost simulates jumping.

I am not sure what was expected of me when I was sent the Workout Video but I will rate this as a solid workout for just about anyone to attempt - I know it will make me stronger and more agile and it will work those muscles!!
