I don't remember being below 150 - ever...

Monday, July 21, 2008

I was thinking yesterday and told my DH that I was already 150 pounds at 12 years old.

He thought it was funny and started laughing.

I think it is sad emoticon and have decided that I would like to see if SparkPeople can help me to get lower and maintain my new weight, whatever it will be.

I remember being in the 9th grade and telling the ski rental guy that I was 140 lbs even though I was 155 at the time. That was the last time I was that weight. Some of us just aren't meant to be so thin. I've decided after 15 months of working this that it really doesn't matter if I ever get to some mythical number. The questions I have to ask myself is do I feel comfortable in my skin; am I feeling energetic and healthy and strong; can I maintain this weight indefinitely? Boo to mythical numbers! Yeah to healthy and energetic no matter what the weight! On the other hand.... lol.... It would be fun to reach it.

Keep up the great work!

You know what's really sad? I don't ever remember weighing less than 243. Yes... those are sad things... but we will succeed and beat those numbers and meet our targets. Keep it real... and it will all happen. WE're here for you!! You're doing great!!

Aren't you so sweet to send me the Spark Goodie! Thanks so much as yesterday was sort of a tough day. The last time I weighed less than 150, I was 30 years old, letting a real jerk break my heart. I've used food as insulation against relationships ever since-for nearly 30 years. You know what? You and I deserve better than 150. Let's do it!

I am getting better every day.

Yesterday I let my father know how much I weigh!

Today I asked my hubby to take my picture!

2 months ago was the first time I let my hubby know how heavy I had become and he has been so supportive of me.

I have taken off 30 pounds and a life-time of "burdens" by being able to tell my weight and have my picture taken!

Thank you SparkPeople for helping me to unchain myself. emoticon

Congratulations on your first blog! I felt gagged when I was at my heaviest too. I wouldn't let my husband in the room if I was weighing myself. It was awful. What a great feeling you must have had when you felt brave enough to get a picture!
