Price was...wrong

Monday, February 11, 2013

No luck on The Price is Right Live. But we did have a great time. I highly recommend it if you are a fan of the show. It's a little different, but a lot of fun.

Dream come true...sort of.

I have always been a fan of The Price is Right. I have been watching it for 30 plus years and always wanted to be on the show. I was unaware there was a travelling version of the game. For Christmas, my wife got me a ticket to go. It will not be televised, but it has the same games and prizes. I won't get to meet Bob Barker, of course, but they have a pretty cool guest host...Jerry Springer. Don't know if I'll get called to "Come on down!" but I'm sure it'll be fun! Wish me luck!

Sounds like fun as long as Springer does not say,"Ray Comar you ARE the father" of some buck-tooth girl ,crossed-eyed lady's child.Lol, Only I would say something like this.

Unfortunate side effect

Thursday, August 02, 2012

Having lost over 60 pounds my body is very different than it used to be. I had noticed my wedding ring was getting loose. I actually had to have resized to a larger size when I gained my weight. Well, I haven't had it sized down since losing the weight and I lost it somewhere today. I feel terrible. I managed to keep it for 17 years and I'm pretty sure it's gone. I know my wife would prefer the new me over the ring, I can't help but feel bad.

too bad. My wife had to have her ring re-sized recently. I paid a small fortune for that thing. I hope you can find it.I agree ,your wife would want a healthy "YOU" instead.

Oh no! I am so sorry! I almost lost mine as well. It feels terrible, but it can be replaced. You still have each other and the memories, and that is what really matters!

Perhaps you can get with Star wars engraved somewhere on it! emoticon

That is to bad about losing your ring. I am sure you are right that your wife would rather have a healthy husband. Maybe it will show up when you least expect it. good luck. emoticon

One year ago today....

Sunday, June 24, 2012

On June 24th 2011 at 5:00pm I got up out of my chair and was headed to the front door when I felt dizzy, almost like a head-rush from getting up too quickly. We were headed to meet my sister-in-law at Ruby Tuesday's for Friday night dinner. I never made it. I made it about two miles before having to pull over and my wife called an ambulance.
An hour and a half later I was in a hospital room after suffering a heart attack and receiving a stent in one clogged artery. The artery was 100 percent clogged. My cholesterol was high,I was borderline diabetic and overweight. I had never had any of this checked. I had no previous symptoms. This was my wake up call, Ah-ha moment, slap in the face, whatever you choose to call it.
I am happy to announce that in one year's time I am now off of my cholesterol medication, 60 plus pounds lighter, walking 2 miles 2-3 times a week, staying active and eating right.
SPARKPEOPLE has been a big part of my success. I have found reliable information that works for me. Tracking also helps me keep my program. I don't blog or chat much here, but the friends I have made helped more than they know.
Thank you all for the support and I wish everyone continued success in your own goals.

Another one!

Thursday, February 02, 2012

It is terrible that my past blog entry and this one have the same subject matter. Another Police Officer was shot and killed in the line of duty.
That makes 3 officers in our local area in as many months. Previously an offficer hadn't been killed since the 1950's. Not sure what is happening in our small town but the trend doesn't look promising. Maybe I am just not aware of the actual goings on in town and I see only what I want to see.
I moved here years ago and it reminded me of my hometown so I stayed. I hate to lose that feeling.
