New Year Time to Try Spark Again

Saturday, January 01, 2011

So done with 2010 which was a bad year really on to 2011. Probably the best point of last year finding Marsha's ranch and ultimately buying a horse from her.

I had nasal surgery 3 weeks ago, so really hope with the ability to breathe better I'm actually prepared to restart the Spark.

Today I'm still on holiday and snacking. I've also decided that one day on the weekend will be my don't care day to have what I want if I want to.

Anyway, today will be my bad day even though I've started tracking then on to tomorrow.

I did so poorly the last couple of years on diet and exercise, but you can't live in the past. Time to look to the future and take a good hard look on improving myself.

POA Nov 2009

Wednesday, November 25, 2009

Given my tendency to get sinus infections this year my plan of action for this round is going to be relatively light.

1. More water, I'm not going to even guess at a number here as any increase will be better.
2. Less Doctor Pepper which should help with 1.
3. Exercise a minimum of an hour and a half each week. I'm going to strive for 15 minutes a day and hopefully more.
4. Track food each day.
5. More horse time now that I'm well.
6. Boot camp course sometime before challenge is over. I bought a 6 class pass.
7. Mini-rewards-anytime I prevent myself from having something sweet during the day, ie, when it crosses my mind and I don't do it I will buy a new song for my music library.

Congratulations on setting up a great motivator to stick to your commitment to you. What an awesome idea to reward yourself with a song to add to your music library with each temptation you don't give in to.

Awesome and GR8 blog!

November is going better so far...

Wednesday, November 04, 2009

So I've had more time to work on myself this month so far. I took Sunday off after the Halloween festivities in which I didn't overindulge too bad, though did have two drinks at the Halloween party. I went as a Bloody Bo Peep, there was something very carthatic about blooding up my costume.

Sunday I didn't make it out to the barn, so hopefully will catchup with riding this weekend.

As for Sparking, I took Sunday off and got in exercise and good tracking the rest of the week. Well haven't exercised any today yet, but have been battling allergies all day, it's now moved somewhere deep in my sinuses so I started the antibiotics the doctor gave me a week ago. I intend to walk or dance for 15 minutes in a bit. Not the best, but it's something. Oh yes and I'm back to doing crunches which should help also!

That's GREAT, Sheila!! You should do fantastic with the Individual Challenge this next week! I didn't realize that you have horses. That is really good exercise~no wonder you are up for crunches! :) I hope your meds take care of those sinuses quickly.
Can you believe it's the last week of the fall challenge already?

Third week failure

Saturday, September 26, 2009

So I've been having to work more which has more or less stressed me out and I've also eaten more. It's not so much that I'm eating a larger amount of food than what I'm eating I want comfort feed. It's been like this at work for a couple of weeks. I didn't even log my food for three days. I got back on track with logging yesterday when of course I ate too much and too little today. Well, tomorrow has to be better right...at least I got some exercise in today. The rain has kept me in most of the week and I want to sleep when it's cold and rainy which does not help.

definitely not failure!! It won't be a straight path. You realized what you're doing - that's a big step.

You nor your week/weeks is a failure! It's just been hard and it seems that everyone this time of year starts to long for comfort food. Hang in there, you will get back on track and do just fine!

Bump in the road. Trust me, I have fallen off the wagon myself and haven't been tracking any food for two weeks... I gained 5 lbs. I will get myself back on track and you will do the same. :-)
