Reboot Self

Saturday, August 30, 2008

Whee! Going into a new month, it's time to get myself back on track. I'm going to take the weekend off and reboot myself as it were. This massive amounts of overtime has not done me well. I am up 6 pounds after I checked my weight, though some of that can be attributed to PMS bloat. Still it's not good.

This weekend I intend to be horridly bad, and then do something I didn't as much allow myself before, but goes well with my trying to get more of a social life. I'm going to allow myself one or two nights or meals a week in which I'm not going to worry about watching everything I eat and try and be more concious of my other meals.

We also go back to no mandatory overtime! Yay! I am so burned out which is another reason that I'm taking the weekend off, though may throw some exercise in. I think it's been this whole burned out thing and the extra hours of course keeping me from controlling as much what I eat. I do know it could be worse since I generally get only a burger for example, no fries, and eating out at restaurants I can typically only eat about half of what is set in front of me.

I'm also going to think this weekend about resetting all of my weights and such. Anyway off to enjoy my weekend for now.

Good idea to refocus and reboot!

Have a really good relax and think about eating healthy and exercising in fresh air - think about how invigorated you will feel after doing well. Then next week put some of those thoughts into actions. Slowly but surely - babysteps - but remember to actually do it.

You will feel more refreshed and refocused - you can do this! Check out some inspirational sparkpages and get ready to inspire others yourself.

Good luck!

We all need to reboot or refocus ourselves. I try to give myself one day a week to have things I normally talk myself out of having. I still log everything but I have one day off. Good luck and enjoy your weekend. Maybe since mandatory overtime is done you can refocus on you!! emoticon

Total vent....

Thursday, August 14, 2008

Work, and it's mandatory overtime the past few weeks has been been annoying...but this...I can't even quite describe.

Let me describe the first part of last week...

Saturday was good, I spent all day at the lake on a party barge.

Sunday I got a toothache and it lasted all week I had a dentist appointment Wed and it made the pain worse of all things. This after my tooth actually broke in the night Tuesday night.

Tuesday night while I'm working some of my mandatory overtime I got a phone call at 8:30 from my sister. My sister doesn't call often and to say stuff between my parents has not been going well would be an understatement lately. But I digress...

Anyway, my sister asks what I'm doing, I tell her I'm still at work. Then I ask her what 's wrong...since during the week, a call from my sister usually can't be good. She says she thought she better call me.

Apparently, my mom received a call earlier that day about my 92 year old great-aunt not coming to the phone. So I'm thinking the worst...and that my mandatory overtime be damned...

My sister goes on to say...so my mom went to her house and the house is a wreck, looked as if it had been ransacked. Stuff thrown everywhere, kitchen table moved, chairs thrown under the table, medication strewn everywhere. The visiting nurse is there, with my great-aunt who has a large bruise on the side of her face and a knot on her head. My great-aunt can't remember what happened, but is very afraid to be in the house even with other people. Later she says oh she remembers falling.

My sister and I however think it sounds more like someone broke in, as aside from being so badly bruised there is no way she could have moved her table and chairs. My great-aunt is really frail and not getting around too quickly anymore, no way she could have moved the table. And then she got really worried about her sister being in the house up the road by herself. But nothing was taken either, though the police did come and take pictures of everything.

My great-aunt is had a catscan or MRI on Monday to see if perhaps she had a stroke which would account for the memory. But I somehow doubt a stroke would have led to two ransacked rooms. Still no word on the catscan and I talked to my mom last night.

It completely angers me to think that people can do that kind of crap to little old men and women who can't defend themselves though.

sorry to hear about your great-aunt. It's detestable that there are angry, violent people out there who would harm a completely innocent elderly person! Hope she is okay after all :)

That's really terrible. I hope that she didn't have a stroke & that no one broke in. It's sad to hear that people take advantage of the elderly. Either way your great-aunt sounds like a real trooper, bruised & scared she's still hangin in there.

Sorry to hear about your tooth & the OT. If you can have a nice dinner, a long bath, and a much better weekend!

I am so sorry that this happened to your great aunt. I agree with you--how could anyone hurt defenseless person like that?? I can see how you would be angry and upset!!

Did you get your tooth fixed? That sounds very painful! Hang in there!! What a week you've had!!

Oh my gosh, that is so horrible about your great-aunt, it does sound like a break-in. Maybe they hit her on the head, or pushed her down and hit her head. I do hope that the cat scan will give you all a better idea of her injuries. Very sad and I hope the police find whoever did this. It makes me angry that someone would injure an elderly person like this.

You've had quite a week! Hope the tooth pain is soon gone, I know that toothaches can make you feel terrible all over.

Hang in there Limey!

Whew! Here we go.

Work has been so busy since I've gone back I didn't get to do much exercise last week after going back though I got some walking at the store and at the museum in over the weekend and did a little bit of weights and stretching. Tonight however, I danced around for around for about 45 minutes and cleaned house also. Also did three upper body strength exercises and stretched. My body still feels like it has some kinks in it but I feel looser. Hopefully I'll sleep better tonight as well.

And when I weighed on Friday I was finally below 148, so finally lost my first 10 lbs, though I remain skeptical til it's been like that for a couple of weigh-ins in a row!

Ohh...and I've had about 4 cups of water also, which is really really good for me. I probably need to have as much as I can stomach til I go to bed and tomorrow and Tuesday since I have have to fast after 10pm on Tuesday and can only have water as I have to have blood work for my physical on Wednesday. It is awesome that work gives us physicals, but I had the bloodwork part!

Way to go with the 10 pound loss!! I'm excited for our next Lime challenge to begin--how about you?! I'm ready. I haven't been exercising like I need to and am making a personal goal during our Lime summer challenge to kick it in gear--with both cardio and strength--no more excuses!

I hope all goes well with your physical! That is great it is paid for. Won't it be nice to weigh in less this year:-)!

Weekend and baby raccoons

Thursday, May 29, 2008

This weekend was my birthday and I spent it visiting my family. We went to Shreveport gambling and to a festival and went and saw Indiana Jones. I stayed with my sister and got to play with her "babies" see attached pic. There are four of them total and they just got their eyes open last week. She will keep them probably for the summer and then turn them out probably when the worst part of the summer is over. They are so cute, but I would not want them running around in my apartment.

Busy and tired

Haven't blogged in a bit, typing has been about the last thing I've wanted to do the last 2-3 weeks. Just tired and stressed a bit from working at this new position I have at work I think. I'm feeling a bit more motivated now and hope that a week of vacation will help even more. Though my birthday this weekend may sabotage me somewhat since I'm visiting family which means eating bad stuff generally and cake of course. But we're also going to a festival I think which means some walking as well hopefully that will help.

Happy Birthday!!! before you have a 2nd piece of cake or go overboard, think aobut how you will feel afterwards. I usually end up giving in and eating way more than I need, then really regret it later. So be thoughtful of that before the food hits your mouth! It is ok to have some!

Have an awesome weekend!!

OVERWEIGHT 5/23/2008 1:24AM

Hi We try to walk ever time my husband and I go out to eat. We walk and look around in stores. Going to family get together can mean walking around in the yard. Yesterday was our 20th anniversary and we ate out at Outback Steak House. We shared a Blooming onion and brought 1/2 of it home. Each of us had a salad and then halved the main course and dessert. We were both filled up but not over full. Summer brings on more snacking of chips, drinks, and sweets as we are on the go. We went camping last week and I gained 3 pounds at weight in last Thursday. I lost 1 pound this week after eating out yesterday. It's hard to stay on track. My husband thinks it's great I lost 25 pounds last year. I know it should have been a lot more. I will start trying harder. emoticon
