BLUE

Tuesday, January 12, 2010

It is with many tears and fond memories that I tell you that our Blue passed away last night.

My running partner Blue passed away last night after 2 week of distress.
She was a great companion for our family for 14 years.
I am so thankful to God for giving us her!
It might seem silly to some but she was apart of our family and we love her deeply.

Go with God Blue, we will miss your unconditional love and dedication.
Thanks you for always being there and wanting to run with me. You are a huge reason I ran most days!

This is Blue on one of our runs. It was freezing rain out side that day. I had an hour run. She was covered in ice. She never complained once how cold it was.

She looked at me several times during that run with eyes saying "I love this mom!" She loved the snow.
IT is so fitting that my husband and son buried her in it last night along with her blanked she came home in as a puppy and her baby dog in the snow covered ground.

Blessed Dog, blessed family!
TIA

I just want to offer my sympathy for the loss of your dog. I completely understand how precious a pet is. The neverending unconditional love they provide is hard to find in any human! My dog is so important to me and I dread ever losing her, so I can imagine your pain.

I am so sorry for your loss and how late the reply is as I just saw this. It is so very hard to lose a close family member. I am still grieving my boy I lost in 2002 and it wasn't until the past few months I could even fathom having a new pup in my life, which is how Delilah came in. Blue is watching over you, be sure of that. Take care.

I found your page because you had referenced Yoga once and I was looking for something to do to loosen up neck and shoulders. I thought I would look at your most recent post and read about your loss of Blue. I am crying now, as I write this, just to let you know that your love of Blue and your story about her really touched me. I love my pets also, and really miss them when they die. God bless, and if you happen to know of Yoga tension releasing moves for shoulders, neck, and upper back. please let me know. emoticon

Ohhhh Tia...Blue will always be with you on your runs! What a beautiful dog! We love our pets so much! I know you are so very sad right now but I know Blue is probably chasing daisies and bunnies in heaven right now...just waiting for her family to come join her some day! Hugs to you and your family! emoticon emoticon

Tia, I am sorry about Blue. Our pets become part of the family. So when we lose them we lose part of us. Praying for you and your family.

I am sorry for you loss. It isn;t silly; our pets are so much a part of our lives. We lost our dog Christmas 2008 - the void makes it so hard.

    Tia,

You have my sympathy. I lost my dog Chance about 2 years ago. He had gotten tumors and went from about 90 pounds to 45 before we had a vet come to the house and put him down. To see a strong Pit Bull become a wimpering shadow of his former self still makes me want to cry thinking about it. He looked like he was begging to go his last night. Neither of us slept hardly a wink.

Sending you and your family lots of emoticon. I know we almost lost our dog about 7 years ago when she was still a puppy from a blood disorder - I almost died myself. She recovered, but the bond has only gotten stronger.

I wish your family peace in knowing Blue is in a better place. How is your daughter dealing with this?

    Tia,
I am so sorry for your loss.
Words cannot describe my sorrow for you. I know the hole the loss of a furry family member can create.
Blue had a great long life and was blessed with a wonderful family.
Stay Strong during these hard times!

Alright, alright I admit it I had a piece of candy. I was at the hairdresser's getting highlights and after getting out from under the dryer, my mouth was dry so I grabbed a starlight mint out of the candy jar. Just as I started to chew up the last little sliver, I thought "Oh, crap! That was candy!!"

I've had a few dark chocolate squares and a couple of fun size Baby Ruths since October, but so far I have resisted the 2 lb box of mixed See's chocolates that landed in our office this week. I look at them, think "160 calories for 2?!" (actually, I've seen estimates as high as 190 for 2)and walk away. 80 calories...which will it be? The apple or the chocolate cream? So far, it has been the apple! Pretty good, because I REALLY like chocolate creams! emoticon I think it helps that I REALLY REALLY want to see my weight go below 130 this week!
