I know you are not a Christmas person Mary, but I still hope you have a lovely Christmas Day anyways!
Are you staying out at the farmhouse, or coming in to spend the day with Jo and her family?
If it adds a smile to your day, you can think of me up and out the door before 6:45 in the morning to get Mike from work - you know how much I LOVE early morning!

Let me know when you are in town again, and maybe we can get together.

fitbit tells me the truth

Monday, December 08, 2014

My fitbit told me I have gained 16.5 pounds since January 6th emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
What's with that??? Something wrong with this picture.

Too much relax time I would say.
Being retired has turned me into a person who does not push herself enough.

I feel, I am always on the go but I guess it is not enough .

I would say when you are nearing 64 you have to eat lighter & more often during the day, you need to get a 10 min. workout in at least 3 times a day, to reave the old body up.

The picture below was my progress picture, I am now back to 170 pounds. emoticon

I tell my self my cloths weigh since i check my weight at the gym no scales in the house i found my self weighting several times a day and carrying the scales to different rooms emoticon i agree as we age its harder to lose the weight but so ease to add it on following spark guys advice ant those 10 work outs will help the scales move along we can do this off we go to a healthy 2015 emoticon emoticon maybe you need new batteries in that think emoticon

    Mary, my Mary!

I am right there with you...being busy, but not as active as I was.
All that food people brought, or the meals they treated me too and I am up to 168. as of last week! (I didn't look since then, as I may be 170, by now. emoticon

I don't even have the excuse of being retired or in my 60's. Yikes!

Today, let's make it a great day! Eat well, track. and work out! emoticon together, though far away!

emoticon emoticon emoticon

Let's help each other!

sounds like you are taking responsibility and you know what is the way to the healthy path....start today small changes can make a big difference....

I do agree eating small meals through out the day can help....and of course getting exercise too...do you do weight training or lifting at all...keeping the muscle mass helps too

I know you can do it..... emoticon

Don't let that scale define you. Set aside that "me" time for activity...& TRACK TRACK , TRACK what you eat. I think you may find many additions you don't realize you are consuming. You are ACTIVE on sparks which is a great beginning & consistent stabilizer to make us accountable for our actions or lack thereof. Make 2015 your GOAL year to push forward & change the course of your lifestyle.

Unfortunately, fitbits don't lie! No worries though....the great thing is, it's a NEW day & a NEW beginning...MAKE IT COUNT!!! & COUNT on your buddies...we are there for YOU!!!

Mary, I know I haven't seen you since our lunch at the Mandarin a few weeks ago, but there is no way you were up to 170 lbs - yoiu were looking sleek and gorgeous!

I agree with Jo that your scales must be out of whack ... or maybe your vision? Maybe the scale really read 107!!! emoticon emoticon

No matter what the scale says my friend - you look AWESOME!!!!!

Mary, Busy is NOT the same as ACTIVE! I really have to plan for and work at being active. This time of year is especially hard, not only because temptations are everywhere but it's so busy! I sewed a lot this weekend, making gifts. No fitness minutes there. Had to be sure to work them in somewhere; my breaks from sewing were fitness breaks! Streaks help a lot. I hoop and do yoga every day; walk most days and fit in whatever else I can. But, I have to make it a priority. I am not willing to eat less so I have to keep moving! :)

Day 12 Keeping On

Friday, September 12, 2014

No blog from me for a few days but I never gave up, I did the healthy thing! emoticon

I was just feeling low, news of a Lady passing, she is a Grandma to Boys who call me Grandma too, the news had me thinking why do I bother? Why do I care if I try to lose weight ? I mean she was 67 , not sick, but in a split minute she was gone. It had me feeling sad.

Then, I got over my pity party, no bad eating--- I remembered my own sister is going to be 80 at the end of the month and I should never give up on me.

I got a week free pass from the Y and off I went to day. Loved the place.
I also walked on the board walk along the lake and I had a nice long swing, they face out over the water, so beautiful. Have I ever told you, I love to swing.

If I get to have a trip south this spring, I want to look good and be healthy

I am happy to night , I know I made the right choice to keep on Keep'en On.

Mary, I'm sorry that have had to say a final farewell to someone you cared about. That is never an easy thing to do, and all too often we try to ease our emotions using the wrong methods - food, liquor, drugs, etc - but NOT you!

That is so AWESOME!!!!

It sounds like you have had a great day at the Y as well as on the beach and swings! I used to love swinging, but haven't been one in far too many years.

Hug yourself as you recall your friend, not just with her physical absence, but rather with smiles and laughter as you think of all the good times you shared over the years.

I really believe that...I understand missing a dear friend and am so glad you kept to healthy living. Best of luck at the y...it will keep you active during those cold days ahead of us.

I love your beach pic...particularly on a fall am. like today...before you know it you will be celebrating with Winnie...

I do understand, Mary, about thoughts of why even bother.
We never know when our time will come, but although we have moments, we do pull out our positive thoughts and it gets us going again.

You sound so good and I love that ! Glad you are enoying the Y and I can just imagine you swinging!
I love to swing, too!

Keep up the good work. We may as well feel as good as we can, with the time that we have.

OMG, I hadn't realized your sister is going to be 80 soon, she is about 10 months older than me!! I know you'll get together for her special birthday!

I think you had a fun day! I'd like that swing too, especially looking over the water while swinging! I'm glad you enjoyed your day at the Y too!

Keep it up Mary . . . we may stumble at times but pick yourself back up and get at it girl! You're doing too good to ever stop!!

Day 8 Weigh day

Monday, September 08, 2014

Hi Friends it was a great day even for a Monday !
Hubby, Panda and I walked through the woods to the lake. We crossed the river mouth and went on the north and south side of the lake.

I managed to get 3.9 miles walking today, did 20 minutes on my gazelle.

Drum roll for my weigh in emoticon I removed 2 pounds, this is a big deal with me after going away for 3 nights and 4 days. For months I have been eating NOT so good when I go to London, but I ate well this time. I am very happy.

I credit my accomplishment to my friends that kept me accountable.

emoticon all.

Here is a picture from today of me and Panda at the lake.

How nice that Jim will go for walks with you and Panda. I imagine that the scenery is beautiful, especially on a nice sunny day with the water sparkling all around you.

Have the leaves started changing colour yet? Everything is still so green around here that it's hard to believe that it's Fall already.

That's a great shot of you and Panda - you look so relaxed and happy together .

Congratulations on the scale heading in the right direction! I know how frustrated you've been about that!

Have a wonderful week!

Hugs,
Kathy
