Salt Cave

Saturday, March 30, 2013

Yesterday I was lucky enough to have the day off work and so I pampered myself a little. I had come across this deal for a salt cave visit for half price and yesterday was the perfect opportunity to try it out. From all I read it is helpful for skin, breathing conditions, and relaxation. I can use help with all three areas so it was a no brainer for me to try it out.

I'm sure with those conditions you really need to gon continously and it is something I will consider. May is when my asthma stikes so this is the perfect time of year to try it. It was an interesting experience and if I could have taken a nap it would have been perfect. I just need to learn to clear my mind and relax. This picture us very close to what our local spa's salt cave looked like. There were seven reclining chairs some with blankets and one with a pillow. I woudn't want to cover up since I want the skin to be exposed.

Have you ever tried this?

I just ordered and received a Himalayan salt inhaler. Sells for $44 on Amazon and half-price for the same new ones on Ebay. I
like it a lot - keeps my lungs clear. I just
finished with pneumonia, so I want to keep
my lungs healthy.

Come on Sunshine!

Wednesday, March 20, 2013

Maybe a sunshine song will bring Spring. We are having snow all week and the beginning of next week. No great accumulations, but I think it is past time for some better weather.

Now let's all sing emoticon emoticon

Off my back break

Tuesday, February 26, 2013

So yesterday I returned to work to find one computer in our manufacturing area has bit the bullet and another user has an infected machine that I have been working on all day. I have finallly decided to reformat and reinstall. That is very time consuming, but hey that is what I'm here for. We also have a new person starting next Monday so I need to build a computer for them and get all thier accounts set up. That too is time consuming.

So here I was woeking away thinking I better work through lunch when my smarter side thought better of it and I went out for a walk around the neighborhood. We have a possible storm coming in later today so I really needed to fit that walk in and I'm glad I did/ My back is happier too. I have walked everyday since the doctor told me that I should. That and I am faithful with my back exercises.

On my way out the door yesterday to leave for work I slipped on a patch of ice that was lightly covered in snow and oh yes I fell right on my butt. More on the right side protecting my left. Somedays I wonder what I did wrong to deserve this! Ironically as I told the story I had to laugh.

Overall my back is better and I am hoping for complete recovery soon! Take care my friends!

Never give up

Thursday, February 14, 2013

I saw this and thought it was perfect. Somedays people make decisions that are not the best. Instead of given up for the rest of the day we need to make the rest of the day better. I hope you all have a great Valentines Day. For me it is also our anniversary.

I love this Val. I make that mistake many times, if I stumble for one day, I let myself fall all the way on that day instead of just starting over. I mean who ever said that you only get one chance per day! emoticon

Happy belated Anniversary and Valentine's Day!!! I Hope you had a great one!

2 week back break

Tuesday, February 12, 2013

From Work that is! Not that it is a good thing because we all need our pay checks. I was trying to work through the back pain until I saw my surgeon again, but was advised to get back in to the chiropractor. He wants me off work for two weeks to rest my back. I do have to move computers and monitors, but I had asked for help with the heavier ones lately. I think looking back at things I should have probably taken a little more time off work after the back surgery to allow proper healing. My mind always thinks that work won't be such a strain. In reality it probably is.

The doctor ordered walking so I did go to the mall today. I have an eye appointment tomorrow near the mall so I plan on going again tomorrow. The weather is fair enough, but still quite slushy along the curbs so inside might be my best bet for walking right now.

Rest, I can do this!

Sorry to hear about the pain - I've certainly had my share over the years, too! I've recently discovered a 'magic cream' called Topricin that does help a lot so it might help you, too, in addition to everything else you're doing to heal. It's sold at stores like Sprouts and other places that carry homeopathic remedies, also via Amazon - either way, hope you are feeling better soon!

Those backs are tricky. I went yesterday for a massage and had her put the kinesio tape on my lower back. My Mom always said just because you can, doesn't mean you should. Quit lifting anything heavier than a laptop computer, you are more important. People that do not have back problems usually don't mind helping, if they know your back is an issue. Hope you are better soon.

TXTOAD9970 2/12/2013 4:09PM

I had neck surgery for two bulging discs in 2002 and regret not taking more time from work to heal and go through physical therapy. Fortunately, I did not have a job where lifting was required, just sitting at a desk/computer for nine hours a day. That takes it's toll - my posture isn't the best.

I hope two weeks of rest and walking to exercise the muscles in your back will help you heal properly. You don't want to have to do the surgery over again! Take care and feel better soon.
