Wow, Iíve been going around and around with a foot issue. Basically a lot of pain the more I use it. That can be a real bummer when you love to walk. Last year I was walking in the morning before work and walking in the afternoon for lunch. I also worked at getting some strength training in.
Well at the beginning of this year my foot doctor sent me to physical therapy. I started with one therapist who three weeks into the treatment had a baby. This left me with a student who had some great ideas and tried some different treatment. When he left after his time was up I ended up with a therapist who the student trained with. They both kind of treated me when the student was there, but now Iím full time with him. He has been with the company quite a few years and had some recent training in a new method of treatment. I do feel like they have been trying, Iím just sort of sad that they canít do more.
After all those people and months of going and doing their stretching exercises faithfully we are at a plateau and he feels like the treatment isnít doing me any good. He has had a couple of recommendations that he asked the doctor about, but he is dragging his feet. I was pretty persistent the last time I called the doctor that I needed to do something about this pain. So my next step is a bone scan. Iím not sure what he is looking for, and Iím not sure I want him to find it. I do want relief though.
During all this time I have not exercised like I should have. Some of it because I love to walk and I had to give it up. The other reason I think is just because Iíve been in a funkÖ I also have eaten poorly and gained weight back. Iím pretty disappointed in myself. With all that said I am trying to add more exercising Ė weights need to come back into my life and I also need to get on my bike Ė after all there is no weight being put on my foot while I ride. Yes this is the plan!
