Almost Fantastic Friday

I certainly hope I feel Fantastic tomorrow because this has been a very stressful week at work. I will try my best to feel fantastic tomorrow!

Tomorrow night I have a b-day celebration dinner with some girls at work. The girl is only 25 and Iím more than old enough to be her mother so it was nice to be included in this little get together. Later hubby and I are meeting an old friend from school. I will need to watch those daytime calories because the evening ones will be higher than normal.

I hope to wake early enough to get that work out in too!

Letís all shoot for that Fantastic Friday!

Some days are Easier than others

I hate to complain; however, some days I struggle with the positive subject to write a blog about. If it wasnít for the August post, blog and salad challenge I probably would just skip the blog and not write anything. Isnít that what our mothers always told us, ďIf you canít say something nice, donít say anything at allĒ?

Well work has been very frustrating. This week Iím not handling the stress very well. Iíve reached for a fireball two days in a row. I crave chocolate everyday. And I feel like Iím starving everyday. Iím doing my best to not give in to my stress, but it is hard this week.

So today I decided I needed that lunch time walk that I have had to give up because of my foot injury. Even though I had some pain, I decided I could not sit at my desk through another lunch! Guess what? My foot is killing me tonight.

Why do I do these things to myself?

    Ouch! Sorry to hear that...seems a low-keyed walk would be safe enough, but guess not...how about bringing a yoga mat and doing some stretches, poses which would keep you off your feet...?

Or put one of those magnetrainers under your desk and pedal away your stress! :-)

The seven steps to Willpower

Not my seven steps... yet

Last night I had my last Pilates class and the instructor did something a little different. She taught us the 15 minute, 7 steps to willpower method of exercise. There are seven exercises that you should do everyday building your repetitions of each one up to a total of 21 reps except for the first exercise which is a plank. Your goal is to hold the plank for a total of 3 minutes.

I thought I would give this a try, but not everyday at first maybe 3 days a week. She gave us a handout, but it only gives a name of the exercise and maybe a little description. The one Iím drawing a blank on is called Rooting Ė (Supine/Pikes). I guess Iíll have to Google that one. I will also need a timer for the plank since it is timed not repetitions. There is also one called Wind, which you just turn in circles 21 times each direction. This one makes you very dizzy. I donít like it at all.

I find it interesting to be exposed to these different ideas.

Monday, Monday

Today I returned to work after a long weekend that was quite productive. I'm thankful for the few vacation days that went well because today was one of those days that they refer to as typical Monday - everything that could go wrong did.

The good news - I didn't overeat nor did I let it get the best of me mentally. I'm just hoping the rest of the week goes better at work!

My Corny Poem

I was reading a book review
When I found this site
Helping many people
Win a heck of a fight

For me battling weight
Is not something new
I believe in a healthier lifestyle
Knowing it can only be up to you

So I signed up with SparkPeople
Hoping to turn my life around
I starting logging my food and fitness
And started shedding those unwanted pounds

There is more to a healthy life
Than shedding some weight
You must also change your mindset
