without walking. And that was at the end and in addition of my jog/walk of mile. Thank goodness, because I was wondering if the jogging/breathing thing would get better. Answer: Yep, just keep on building on this and someday maybe I won't be so out of breath.

Didn't miss jogging today

I take care a person with mental/physical disabilities and he had a doctor's appointment so didn't go to his center today.

I really wanted to do my jogging today, so I hatted BK up and off we went. Pushing his wheelchair added some interest to the jog. I jogged 2 block lenghts and speed walked 1 for the 1st 1/2 mile and it worked okay. But on the way back home(the 2nd half mile) jogging while pushing the wheelchair became to hard. Never noticed before but the route back home is slightly uphill.

It took me 35 minutes instead of my 20minute mile but BK enjoyed it and I got my exercise in.

My weigh-in today is 145 lbs and I'm 15 lbs away from my goal. I have only been do aerobic exercise, (stationary bike, jazzisize, walking and jogging) this has helped me to lose 20 pounds and build up my stamina.

Now I want to build strentgh and muscle. I think these 2 things will really help me reach my goal of running a marathon in 2009.

Sparkpeople make is so easy to setup exercise programs. I just said yep I'm ready and there was a ready made program for me. Wonderful!!!


Back on track (running) again.

Yep, I learned my lesson about pushing to hard. Don't be so macho-it doesn't get me any where. So, I'm back on track now, following the distances and times for walking and jogging set for my first week. Not doing so cost me a week of no training.

So, now instead of running that extra 1/2 block I just don't. I want to do a 5k by September and I will need all the stamina building training possible.

    You are doing great! Remember that your body will rebel if you push too hard. I know this to be a fact as I got shin splints and tore something painful in my hip while training for a half and full marathon this year. If your body is "rebelling", take things slow. Walking can progress to speed-walking which can progress to jogging, etc. YOU CAN DO THIS! You will be SMOKIN' at your 5K this year! I just know it :)

This week has been a bust as far as the running goes. Did the arobic exercising, the stretching, but no running. Have been busy painting and spring cleaning.

Is that an excuse, I think so, I started off gang busters. I ignored the advise to run every other day and to only do it for 20 minutes, since I'm just starting to train. I thought I knew more than people who have been doing this forever, not just starting 2 weeks ago. And look where it has gotten me. Tired, sore and skipping days.

Well, it's over. Starting Monday, I doing it by the book. No more, No less
