I need to motivate myself as well as my boyfriend. Any ideas. He's about 450 he's about 6ft tall he carries it well but he has a belly and he's not active at ALL. eating right is a constant battle. Some days I'm good but if food is low I'm back to square 1. Help!!!!! He wants to change but men can be so stubborn. I'm an unbalanced example because I have all the advice in the world but I need to practice what I preach.

    Rahall7 I am with JannaG123....be a good example. I have been married to a man for 22 years that thinks vegetables belong in the garden and not on his plate! He does start paying more attention to what I am eating, especially if it is a new recipe. However, he needs to be motivated as well. I know for me that if I am not in the right frame of mind, I cant find the time to exercise or eat right. I have thrown myself in this time. I joined Biggest Loser at work AND they have a "walking works" challenge. I also came running back to SparkPeople. I make myself do SOMETHING every day to move. Even if it is just a little walk. I find once I am out there, I spend more and more time. So maybe you can start small. A walk after dinner is what we do. I also do my morning walk and fitness room at work but at least he is walking with me once a day. Also PRAY PRAY PRAY for him and yourself.

    I think being a good example is the best advise. My boyfriend and I are doing this together and it really does make it easier. Just stress how much it will help you to get healthy if he makes healthy choices too. Good luck!

Had a doc's appt today and I heard the usual. You need to loose weight. This time I was able to say I'm actually 11 pds lighter thanks to lifestyle changes. It felt good to talk about my progress. I have a great doctor who was very informative and who took her time and dealt with me. I usually avoid doc appts b/c I don't really want to hear the same ole stuff. I feel so good about it this time. She's cheering on my weightloss as well. Support from all corners is greatly appreciated. I recently ordered some official workout gear. I feel like dressing the part will motivate me more. Old sweat pants and big t-shirts will be no more.

each small step is pushing me closer..........I"m so excited.

    I agree Steve. so I'm down 2 pds I know it's been about 4 weeks or so. I've gotten lazy so I'm thankful for my stability at least.

Slow and steady

Wow what a day. So finally I bought a scale. I'd been wanting one for about a year or so now. Since I'm getting more serious about my weight these days and I need a scale to accurately see my progress. So I bought one yesterday and the batteries that came with it didn't work. I started to get discouraged but I let it go. I really wanted to know my weight. I had to wait until this evening to weigh myself and I can proudly say another 2 pounds have been lost. I'm so happy for progress and change in my life. It's slow and steady but like they say. Slow and steady wins the race.

wow second day up at 6:00 doing tabeo. Feeling great. I know it's only been done two days but I could see this as a habit. I'm not as groggy, and I'm more energetic than usual. I'm going to prepare myself a green smoothie to sip on for breakfast and I'm off to a great day guys. Be blessed thanks for reading and supporting.

Alright been a pretty busy day. I actually found out I've lost 2 pounds. I proud but I know I'm simply maintaining my weight. I've decided to start working out in the mornings instead of coming home and trying to push myself to do something. I've read this in many articles but when I work out in the mornings I tend to be in a better mood and I tend to be more productive. I'm going to tackle this and see how it works out for me. Wish me luck guys..

    Morning workouts work great for me as well and I get a gym class in during the evenings after work.

    I did it guys.Just got finished. It crazy b/c 2wks ago I could do Tabeo like it was nothing. I was struggling this morning but I felt so accomplished. So accomplished!!!! I did 30 mins of a 54 min DVD and then I rode my excersize bike for about 10-12 minutes or so. I'm exhausted but I'm so HAPPY!!!!!!! emoticon

  I've heard of a lot of people having success with morning workouts, so if you can do it, go for it. Personally, my workday starts very early, so it's not an option. Plus, I'm not a morning person at all. Good thing that I do have the resolve to go right after work, so it balances out.
