I have been so busy! Ahhh!

Thursday, May 23, 2013

I've been working on lining up my new internship for the last week, I haven't fallen off track, I promise! I'm still tracking, I just haven't had time to get online and put it all in. If it weren't for my awesome accountability buddies though, I probably would have cheated a lot more than I have.

Anyways- INTERNSHIP! I'm starting an internship at an Simulation Engineering firm within the next few weeks- exciting stuff!

With love, Rachel.

PS- Down 1.5 lbs since last weigh-in... Yay! :)

Back to work!

Friday, May 17, 2013

I'm currently only working on the weekend, and I'm really excited to go back to waiting tables. It seems like I have more self-control when I work. How do you guys handle bored eating? I spent the day creating an exercise plan for the days I don't work, and still managed to eat an unhealthy lunch. It was just too easy. Tomorrow's another day and hopefully I spend the night running around!

Bored eating? Have lots of little healthy snacks and water/water/water. SP has some great suggestions for snacks in the nutrition section. I like to keep veggies, fruit, Greek yogurt and nuts available for mix and match. Also, I make up BIG tossed salads, so that I have leftovers for mini "treats"(add a few dried cranberries, sourdough pretzel pieces, slivered almonds, pine nuts, cut up fresh fruit, hard-cooked egg, or grated cheese for interest). I've been a 'grazer' my whole adult life because small and many work best for my digestion. But I have to watch portions and stay away from the sugar and white flour (except for sourdough, that is emoticon emoticon)
Have fun creating.

Today was better. Busy! But better. Thank you EVERYONE that responded to my last blog entry! I was really having a down day and it helps so much to know that people care.

Dermo went late (of course), but I already see a difference in my skin (Steroids are great!) Overslept, so I had to grab breakfast in between errands today (Bagel and a skinny biggby drink- my guilty pleasure!) After that, had toast and jam, then pasta for dinner! I really didn't feel like heavy-duty cooking today, but I think I made decent choices for today.

Many of us want to live on carbs. I'm one of those for sure. But gradually I've tried to substitute veggies and fruit for all the goodies and bread. Hope your day today goes well! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Nutella on a spoon kind of day.

Tuesday, May 14, 2013

I had a huge misunderstanding with my boyfriend last night, and consequently today turned into a giant cheat day. I didn't go over by too much (Which isn't that hard to do when 1500 is the upper limit), but that's no excuse. We talked for a long time and I realized that I don't know how to properly handle my stress. Before I spiraled on him, I was closed off and really letting my room get a mess, then after it happened, I tried to eat my stress. He said he'd help me work through whatever's bothering me. Going to the Dermatologist tomorrow morning to see if I can't get help for my severe eczema (1 stressful thing down, X amount to go!)

Ohh boy, this is so real! We each deal with stress upon stress. Yup, the nutella, yup the peanut butter or almond butter. But when someone is willing to work with you right there where you are, that gift of relationship trumps any kind of quick satisfaction, that leaves bad consequences for later. Tiffs are part of every closeness; but talking things through is another rare present. Be sure to thank GOD for this man! emoticon

sometimes it is frustrating that the people closest to us can see the things that we dont want to see in ourselves...but the awesome part is that he's here to help you! he sounds like a good one :) (and nutella on a spoon day would turn into entire-jar-of-nutella-on-my-finger day haha if i let myself near the stuff!!!)

emoticon stress is something i have a hard time dealing w/ too...and (I) find myself turning to food to unleash my stress as my first resource if I let myself. Recently I've been trying to try to grab something healthy, go to the music (music REALLY calms me), once in awhile (more so lately) have a good cry (that also calms me?!) ,or text a friend....hope you have a much better day! And your stress level comes down even one level to a calmer, happy place :) emoticon

Survived the weekend!

Monday, May 13, 2013

Well, I'm down 1.6lbs after the weekend! Working all weekend really helps me keep my diet in line. Not going to the gym today after all, I remembered that my gym has pizza in the lobby on Mondays and I'm gonna avoid that at all costs :) Working out at home instead. Hope everyone has a productive week!
