One of those days

Monday, January 11, 2010

Have you ever had one of those days that you wished you could redo? Well, I've had a few and yesterday was one of them. I don't know what I did yesterday, but last night and still today my left knee hurts so bad that it's hard to walk. I've had to go back to using my cane in the house, which I haven't had to do in ages. I had to transfer money from one bank to another through the internet rather than doing it by hand, because I didn't trust my leg to get to the car. Tomorrow I am going to make an appointment to see the doctor to find out what is wrong. I called a friend to see if she would take me & she said that she would get me everywhere i needed to go this week, if needed. She's a very dear friend, but not on SparkPeople so I can't give her a Spark Goodie. I wish I could, so I am going to try to give one to each of my Spark Friends instead.

Maybe give your good friend the spark book as a thank you for all she is doing for you, and that might inspire her to join you/us.

I hope your knee feels better soon! emoticon

My First Christmas as a Grandma

Sunday, December 27, 2009

My son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter went down to my sister's for Christmas. My hubby & I went down also. When we had the presents passed out for everyone, My son said that he didn't realize that he would need a u-haul to take the presents back home. I thought that my Mom, my sister, my hubby & I had kept it in check somewhat, but then my granddaughter is my Mom's first great grandchild & my sister's first great niece. I will try to post a picture of her later in the week.
I hope all had a nice Christmas & all have a Happy New Year.
Yes, the background picture on my page is my son holding my granddaughter.

Living Well Expo

Friday, September 25, 2009

My friend, who is old enough to be my Mom, I know this because her youngest is also a friend & she is older than me, went to a Living Well Expo, they found that if they changed the name, more people would come. Before, it was called a Seniorama. Anyway, we went to this to look around, and get our flu shots. Although I take Enbrel every week & it's an injection, I hate getting a flu shot, go figure. Then as we were going to leave, she wanted to check on one more thing & I was talking to someone about their walker, she didn't see me stop & I couldn't find the booth that she went to. I lost her! Other friends who were there, saw me & asked if they could help, as I don't walk too well, & I said yes. They went back in & found her and guided her out. The reason why I panicked is that she has macular degenerative eyesight & she just only sees a little now, but still very independent.

New Grandma

Monday, September 21, 2009

Well, it's been just a little over 61 hours that I have been a grandma! It's a wonderful feeling. I've gotten to hold my granddaughter at least four times since then, something that I wasn't sure I would be able to do 6 and on half months ago when we found out about the precious event. I am so thankful for the friend who let me hold one of her twins a few times before our little one was born.

Dentrist Trip

Tuesday, June 23, 2009

I love going to the dentist. Well not really, but at least I'm not afraid of going like I was a few years ago. I would have anxiety attacks before my appointments. I'm still anxious some times, like today, my sinuses are acting up. And when they do, I tend to breathe through my mouth, but I know my dentist will take that into effect & go slowly. Also, today is just a checkup & a cleaning, so I get my glasses cleaned for free as an extra bonus. emoticon

    I like my dentist now.

When I was a little girl, my dentist was a German lady (think stereotype) who didn't believe in freezing. On top of that, I always threw up with the fluoride, but she made me do it every time, and then yelled at me every time I was sick.

There were many, many, many years I did not go back to a dentist.

Well, I did get my glasses cleaned for free. I had a cavity, but I knew about it. I get to go back next week to get it filled.

I LOVE my dentist; he's great. But, I hate GOING to the dentist. I think it's residual after effects from the horrible dentist I had as a kid. I get so stressed about my appointments and no matter how mundane it is, I just get very tense and I have to remind myself to relax.

Good luck.
