Just thought I'd check in, write up a few things.
I've been on HIIT training for serious this week...and I know it's working because I'm SORE! And I increased my weight this week and switched moves, so I'm doubly sore. But the good kind of sore - the kind that means you're going to see results.
Or I just got beaten up REALLY bad at the Jane's Addiction show and it's all an illusion. Quite possible.
Unfortunately, I've not been 100% this weekend with food...and alcohol. The Oberon's wheat beer they have at Surly Girl is soooo good, so there was indulgence. Then there was my old pal vodka, I love that girl, she never does me wrong.
Vodka keeps me up late, so the sleep schedule is off (it's 10:15pm and I needed to be in bed an hour ago).
ANYWAY. Yummy noms of the week:
Greens, beans and 'maters this week = fresh mustard greens, spinach and arugula, fresh green beans, butter beans and tomatoes with lots of paprika and onion.
Salmon salad = canned salmon, prepared egg salad-style. Will be saving this for post-race noms on Sunday!
Salads this week will be a mix of spinach, arugula and spring mix, with my blackberry vinaigrette dressing. EXCEPT - I forgot to cut and strain my dressing. Did you know that blackberry seeds + spinach leaves = sandpaper on tooth enamel? Yeow!
Workout plans for the week:
This should be a taper week for the 10k on Sunday. This is the hardest part of training for a race, hands down - I hate it. I'm thinking HIIT run tomorrow, with step xtrain; Tuesday will be Spinning; Wednesday will be easy run; Thursday PiYo; and Friday HIIT. Saturday, *meeeeeeeble* I WILL I WILL I WILL only do water aerobics, ONLY. And rest.
Friday will be the carb-loading day, with puttanesca and a glass of wine. Mmmm.
Sunday, I will run my butt off.
