Self-Fulfilling Prophecy?

Thursday, April 02, 2009

Not as serious as the subject line would imply...

I woke up late (Morrissey, I love you) and stumbled around the house trying to get my s&%t together this am, pack my gym bag, pack lunch, feed the animals and myself, etc.

I left my toast in the toaster this morning (I knew I was forgetting something when I had one hand free going out the door).

Today it's really nice out, and I was SO STOKED to run in the blazing sun at lunch (I'm weird, I know). I put on my sunscreen, got my HRM strapped, grabbed my shorts...and realized I forgot to pack a shirt. *headsmack*

Okay, at least I got to a) be in the concentrated sunshine from the windshield as I drove home like a maniac to get a shirt for after work jogging; b) grab a towel and my toiletries so I can shower at the Y before I meet a friend for dinner; and c) I got to see my puppy and kitty midday.

Now I'm back, sucking on some Diet Dr. Pepper (rather than the after-jog snack I usually have) and trying to mentally clear some space to deal with a monthly report that gives me FITS.

Better news - I got rid of 8lbs of water weight - poor timing to pick the week before the monthly demon to record my weight on a streak. ;-)

Have tried a couple of different classes this week, due to concert attendance. I think I could actually perform most life functions at the YMCA (they have a full locker room with a "living room" stocked with a water cooler, couches, TV, DVD player; they provide towels and soap; all the classes you'd ever want to take; and housing, were I male). This week, essentially, I have!

Food intake has been going well; went over about 250 cals yesterday (low glucose before my run). Lots of salads (it's true that your food is more satisfying if you use just a LITTLE oil rather than slathering your food in "low cal" stuff) and eating colors.

W00t!
