Sucks to be sick!

Holding my own right now, weight-wise. Missed work last Friday and went to the doctor's office 'cause I was too sick to MOVE! Flu test was negative, but Doc said that she still thought that's what it was, along with an ear infection, sinus congestion, and possible strep throat. So she filled my butt full of Rocephin, Decadron, and B-12 (I call it my "sick-as-a-dog cocktail"), plus prescriptions for cough syrup w/codeine, Tamiflu, Zithromax, and decongestants. Stayed either in the bed or the recliner all weekend, and finally felt well enough to drag myself back to work Monday--no fever, so I wasn't contagious. BUT it's been a BITCH this week trying to keep-on-keepin'-on when I still have felt semi-crappy. So if y'all see something pink on the floor, don't step on it...it's my a$$ dragging...still...

Isn't that how it ALWAYS goes??? Seems like something I ate this weekend was quite high in sodium, 'cause I'm up 1 1/4 lbs. I KNOW it's fluid because my ankles are all puffy. I took an extra fluid pill this morning (should help the BP, too) and I'm going to drink more water today, so that should take care of it. We had a "snow day" today, so no work for me...spending the day at home with the fireplace going and some movies in the DVD player. Gonna hop on the treadmill later. Stay warm, y'all!

OK, so it's only been a couple of days...but I'm down a pound and it's an encouraging start. Eating plan is going well, and hopefully will continue to do so. Going to walk this afternoon when it warms up a little bit. Lunch with a friend today at Joe's Crab Shack--grilled shrimp and salad sounds pretty good to me!

It's coming! 2011 is only 2 sleeps away--actually, only ONE, 'cause this Sparker won't be sleeping when the New Year comes in! Are you ready? I sure am! Yeah, I know..."Why wait till then?", you say. Because I've been psyching myself up for it, preparing my kitchen pantry, getting my head in the right place (instead of stuck up my a** like it has been the last few years). I'm going back to what worked before, in 2003-2004--if I could lose 65 lbs then, I can do it now. It'll be harder, what with the knee worse than it was, but a lot of that is due to the weight I put back on, too. It'll be a slower process, I'm sure, since I'm 7 years older than I was back then. But that's OK, 'cause slower weight loss is more permanent weight loss! And I'm not doing this for ANYBODY except ME! And when I hit New Orleans in August 2011 for the International Red Hat Society Convention "Big Easy Bash", it truly will be a whole new ME out there boogying my butt off! WOOHOO!
