Baking frenzy

My friend leaves work after 48 years with the same company today, so I'm making chocolate brownies, lemon drizzle squares and damson crumble cake.

I love baking and this is definately an excuse to do so without the risk of eating it all myself.

I've posted the chocolate brownie recipe with nutritional info for if you cut it into 48 pieces. if you ant to spoil people I recommend 24 pieces as they are quite small at 48.

Is extra activity exercise, or not?

I've been decorating the bathroom and am unsure as to whether to count the additional movement as exercise. It's movement I wouldn't have done anyway and the extra time spent doing this is making it harder to get out for a walk and stuff.

Or by counting this am i giving myself an excuse not to go for a walk?

I'm stripping the paint of the lovely wooden window frame, painting the walls and fitting a new floor

All good fun although I think I may have bitten off more than I want to chew!

    I thin kit depends on how strenous it is. If it's things like just hanging a few pictures or the like I wouldn't count it. If you were changing out faucets, getting under cabinets, laying floors, etc. I would.

    I understand that moving is exercise, not matter how or what you do to move. So hang in there and keep moving.

celebrations abound

This long bankholiday weekend is a weekend of celbrations for me:
My birthday is next weekend, so I've had lunch with my parents and an evening with my best mate.

One of my oldest friends had a birthday this weekend, so we've done Sunday lunch and I've raised a glass for another frined who's got the A levels results she wanted, turned 18 and is off to university.

And I raided the box of chocolates I was given for my birthday

So far I'm not within my losing rate range, but have kept under my BMR, which feels like a great acheivemnt.

plenty of exercise this week coming I think!

I've spent the last 2 days eating a spinach and chard sald with just about everything. I'd forgotten how much I like it. And when it gets a bit old in the bag I can have it cooked.

Particularly enjoyed a spinach, mozzerella and sapargus salad after a long walk this evening.

Since I've been gone, I have engaged a weight loss coach, which helped me lose 1.5 stone. I then got made reducndant and started my own business. While I didn't lose any weight during this time, I didn't put any on, which is a huge acheivement for me.

So now it's time to focus again and I've been back here for a week or so. A week which involved a funeral, a girls day out and 4 days at a festival eating food I didn't prepare myself.

So I've balanced that out with lots of walking and limited the damage. Yeh!

I also went for a pilates 121 session this evening, which was great. i now know where to focus my body for exercise and feel really invogorated.

Maybe I can even learn to like exercise!
