Today I took my GD on a walk to the Inner Harbor of Baltimore. She is in a stroller and I walked around, went to a book store (of course buying her a book), ate lunch out (she is eating real food now cut very small). Came home and tried to get her to nap. No deal so I took her off to the park. She played in the swing, the sand, and crawled around. All in all, it was a great day. I walked over 3 miles today!
Yesterday, we went to the outlet mall where I bought her some spring outfits and two pairs of early walkers shoes. I also bought some things for my other DD who is expecting in October. Don't know what it is yet, so everything is green and yellow! I also treated myself to a Coach purse from the outlet. It was clearance so 50% off, and yesterday was 30% off entire purchase! Score a Coach purse for under $100!
So far my visit is going well and tomorrow I am taking GD to the aquarium in the morning and most likely back to the park tomorrow after her nap. So I will be walking a lot tomorrow as well.
I will have pictures to post by Friday!

This was my free session with a trainer. I have never worked with a trainer before. My body fat is 33%, need to drop 6%; BMI is 25.4 so not so bad. Basically, he said the same thing I have been thinking - I need to change up my exercise and more frequently. So tonight, he showed me some oblique twists, push ups, the chin up machine, chest press machine, triceps exercise, mountain climber with twists, lots of crunches on the stability ball. I also warmed up with 10 minute on the elliptical. In 30 minutes, I felt more worked out than I have for a long time with Body Pump class. My body is so used to doing the same thing every week, I am going nowhere. So right now, my plan is (after my time with family in Baltimore next week) is to try different machines three days a week and water aerobics two days a week. I am to change what I do each time I go. Like one week would be M-upper, W-lower, F-core, the next week work arms, chest, core. I am going to experiment with all the new machines there and if I am not able to reach where I want to be in six months, I may make the investment of a weekly training session with a trainer. This being kicked out of my old gym was the best thing that ever happened to me. I can't wait to kick my own %^$#!

I had a great time at class with DD. We were able to talk a bit as I haven't done cycle (spin) for two years and her doctor wants her to not push it too hard right now. She is pregnant and has high blood pressure so exercise is good at moderate levels. I did enjoy cycle.
Tomorrow I will meet with a trainer and get a fitness assessment. Should be interesting. I will let you know.

I was nervous when I went to the new gym. Change is hard and there was no one there that I knew. Of course, I got there way early. It is closer to my house and I left at the same time as I used to go to the old gym. So there I am, feeling a little uncomfortable in a new swim suit. I spent some time in the jacuzzi to relax my foot.
Then other women started coming into the pool area. Everyone was getting two things that look like weights but are plastic and have no weight at all and a foam noodle, so I followed suit and did the same. The water was a little cold but that changed once we started.
The instructor stayed outside the pool for most of the class. We walked across the pool, jogged across the pool, did jumping jacks, squats, leg lifts - lots of leg lifts - front, back, side, touching right hand to left foot, left hand to right foot, arm exercises with the noodle and water weights.
It felt terrific to be able to do jumping jacks without pain, jogging without pain. It felt like organized play. Now an hour later, my legs feel like noodles and I feel like I really worked out.
Tomorrow, I may try a cycle class.
I know I made the right decision to join LA Fitness and my routine for workouts is going to totally change. I hope it jump starts the loss of the last 5 to 10 pounds I want to lose, but mostly tones up my mid-section.
I will let you know what the trainer has to say on Thursday.
