Doctor Visit

Tuesday, February 16, 2010

I have to see the doctor today to have my foot checked. I have been having pain across the top of my arch spreading into my toes. I have no idea what is causing it. It used to only be there if I worked out too much, but lately it is constant. I only hope that I will be able to continue to exercise or my blood sugar will climb again and I am finally getting that back under control. Will let everyone know what she says this afternoon.

You could always try swimming! That would be no stress on your foot! Well, minimal stress if you are doing exercises in the pool or something like that! Good luck at the doctor's office!

A Week's Difference

Friday, February 12, 2010

A big thank you to all who gave me support this past week. You helped me stay strong, work the plan, and reap the rewards. I lost almost 4 pounds this week. Time to give myself a Spark goodie. Tracking really helps me. For some reason, the tracking online is the best...paper just isn't as powerful a tool for me. Spread the Spark. emoticon

Feeling down

Monday, February 08, 2010

The scale went the wrong way this week. I am tracking everything. I am trying very hard to look at this as the step backwards before the step forward. I will continue to track and do my goals for the week. This can't get me down, I won't let it. I have done what I planned to this past week, I followed the steps, I read the book, I am following my plan, IT WILL WORK! emoticon

You can do it!! We both will overcome our mountains and be the people that we want to be (well at least look the way we do in our minds)!!

Keep going one step at a time and I will too!

Reaffirming focus

Sunday, February 07, 2010

I have read the first six chapters of The Spark and understand the power of writing down goals. My focus for this journey is to be healthy for a long time and to watch my granddaughter, who is due in April, grow into a young woman. In order to accomplish that, I need to get my diabetes in control, maintain a healthy weight, and continue to exercise.
To break this down into small steps, I will lose a pound a week, on average for the next four weeks. I will go to the gym 5 days a week. I will eat at least two servings of vegetables a day for the next week.
When I accomplish these goals, I will reward myself by giving myself a day with my other daughter. I will also give myself a sparkgoodie each week for accomplishment for the week of staying on the path.

Feelings on Chapter one

Saturday, February 06, 2010

I am ready to make small permanent changes. I feel empowered by being able to make my own choices one day at a time. No longer will I be discouraged because of one "bad" choice. I am doing this for me. This is my time to make change happen. Chris took simple steps and built this whole community of movated, supportive people. I do not expect it to be easy, but I am ready for the challange...one chapter at a time, one day at a time, one choice at a time.
