I have always loved Pablo Casals and am honored to have had the opportunity to hear him play while he was still here. He was very old; his music was vibrant and exquisite. Pablo Casals was a brilliant musician and a brilliant man, he graced the earth with his wisdom as well as his music.
I love this quote:
“Each second we live is a new and unique moment of the universe, a moment that will never be again And what do we teach our children? We teach them that two and two make four, and that Paris is the capital of France. When will we also teach them what they are? We should say to each of them: Do you know what you are? You are a marvel. You are unique. In all the years that have passed, there has never been another child like you. Your legs, your arms, your clever fingers, the way you move. You may become a Shakespeare, a Michaelangelo, a Beethoven. You have the capacity for anything. Yes, you are a marvel. And when you grow up, can you then harm another who is, like you, a marvel? You must work, we must all work, to make the world worthy of its children.”
~ Pablo Casals
Where might we all be if we had been hearing this message as children?

Several of my friends have been wondering when I would blog about my current dollhouse build.
I have been making the kind of progress on the dollhouse I can photograph. Up until now, it has been preparing and painting the large surfaces and trim pieces, nothing really worth taking photos of. This weekend, I finally got the wallpaper up, which makes it feel so much closer to completed.
I still need to make the flooring for the 2nd and 3rd floors, make the staircase, finish the trim work, paint the roof, make the window boxes, and glue everything in place. This afternoon, I put t together with tape to see if there were any details I goofed up on (amazingly not) and which details I still need to tend to. I would like to have it completed by this coming weekend.
This is what it looks like with the wallpaper in, but not constructed.
Taped together with all of the rooms, doors, and windows in place. Not done yet are the stairs, floors, and trim work, but it gives the idea of where I'm going with it. All together, there are 7 rooms, here are a couple of them
The Living Room without the staircase.
The Attic Rooms ~ I could move in up there.
The house ~ the front view
This picture is a bit more accurate in terms of color.
Now I just need to finish it! In a few weeks it will be in the Scholarship Fundraiser Auction for our school. This time it will be in the live auction. Yikes! I may have to leave the room.
