It just seems that this flu bug gets worse instead of better - I am very frustrated. My aide came down with this and is out now, so I am also short handed at school. Since my aide is 84 years old, I would just as soon he stayed home and makes a full recuperation.
That said, it is an absolutely glorious day! The skies are bright blue, the sun is warm, the grass is turning green, and spring is in the air. I got out this afternoon for a walk in the field with Stella, who bounded around like a maniac.
My seedlings were getting leggy, so I repotted them, then set them out on the hood of my car for an hour to enjoy the sun, protected from the breeze.
I have also set up the nursery for the chicks, who should start hatching Sunday or Monday. I am not at all certain that the chick in the cracked egg has survived. It feels a wee bit lighter to me than the other eggs. I'll know more next week.
This evening I spent some very pleasant time with my flamenco guitar. I didn't get to play during the two weeks family was here, as there was too much to do. It felt wonderful to play music again,
Somehow, I managed to get in my 10,000 steps today, worked out a little bit with my medicine ball, weights, and foam roller, and did some yoga. All in all, not bad for my 6th day of feeling lousy. Actually, I'm pretty pleased.
Now if I can finally get a good night's sleep.

It is hard to stay on track with exercise when you have a sinus headache, sore throat, insomnia, and are trying to work full time.
After blogging, I am going to get out my foam roller, do a little core, then treat myself to some roller massage.
I am really looking forward to recovery from this bug!

Well, I am still feeling sick. I went to work today and let the children know that my throat hurt, my head ached, and I didn't get enough sleep so in all likelihood, I would be cranky. They were pretty accommodating trying to work quietly, and tolerant when I was grumpy. Many of them had have this bug (which is why I have it!) and understand what I feel like.
When I got home, all I wanted was a nap, but that didn't happen.
I'm trying to look on the bright side, and there is one - several really:
Snowdrops, my first flowers of the spring, are blooming.
I got to spend a week with BOTH of my sons.
It was fun having a gaggle of girls here when my niece stayed with me.
We uncovered the first of the daffodils.
So, I expect I'll be feeling better sometime in the near future, I will adapt to the time change, and get over my empty nest revisited feeling. In the mean time, there are many blessing to be thankful for, and happy about.
Hot honey/lemon/Ricola toddy tonight, and hopefully, a good night's sleep.
