Well, today I did my first day of 5k training. This is my first blog too btw... so if I ramble forgive me. I have been harping on doing a 5k for years now. I really feel I am ready to just take the plunge. I have entered the virtual 5k program and I intend on choosing an actual 5k around my area to participate in.
I did 3 miles in 38 minutes today. At first this seemed so slow to me and I was a little discouraged. Then, I stopped to think about it.. number 1 it is my first day of training...
number 2 and a very important point.... I was literally bed ridden at the beginning of January due to a bad flare up of Lupus.. So, I guess the fact I am even exercising is pretty impressive.
number 3.. another very important accomplishment... almost 4 years ago I was 80 pounds heavier.
So, all in all I am happy with myself and I hope I will actually go through with the 5k this year.
