Veggie Police

Friday, September 04, 2009

I had a great worjout yesterday and so far I am please with that. My struggle is more with what I eat than anything. How do you get all your veggies in? I don't care much for fruit but I do try to have some a few times a week. Salads are a given for lunch and perhaps as a side dish for dinner. SparkPeople how do you get your veggies in???? emoticon

Sautee some bell peppers and sweet onions with extra virgin olive oil and black pepper. Add them to some pre-fab minute rice (brown) http://www.minuterice.com/en-us/pro

Working it!

Tuesday, September 01, 2009

Yes Divas! I had a great workout yesterday with my first session of Couch to 5K - it's on coolrunning.com. It kicked my butt and I could only run two intervals. I had someone distracting me and wanted to talk so that didn't help. I walked briskly in place of running and did 2 miles in 40 minutes!! Alright!! Anyhoo - I am doing weights today. Working it like no other today and resting tomorrow. emoticon

Great job! I love my walking buddies my brother and daughter. We talk a bit at first but eventually everyone is winded and want to just make it through, no time for talking. I had some other ladies trying to jump on board, but I'm the type if you ain't outside when I'm ready to move, you're on your own.

I plan to start the C25K next month after we walk a little more and drop some more pounds. Hang in there I look forward to reading that you breezed through all 9 weeks

Tracking Nutrition

Friday, August 28, 2009

I've started tracking what I'm eating with the spark tool and it's eye opening. Since I'm a meat and potatoes kind of girl, it's going to take a lot of discipline and forward thinking to get all my fruits and veggies in. I prefer veggies over fruit but I am confident that I can do it. But, why did I stop by McD's for breakfast this morning?!? OMG! I'm glad I bagged my gym bag today. I have a date with the treadmill and it's going to be brutal. LOL emoticon emoticon emoticon

Girl, you can make an Egg McMuffin at home! Make it the night before and pop it in the microwave or toaster oven in the morning if you're short on time.

I would cook more if I had the time. When I do cook, I usually on have a short amount of time in the kitchen before I'm off to something else. I guess I have to figure out how to plan in more kitchen time so I can cook healthier meals. I have looked at some options under recipes here using things I already have. That helps.

I plan my food for the entire week and that really help because if I do not that mindless emotional eating will slip in. Every Monday morning my weekly food planner goes on the front of my frig. Why don't you buy the food from the grocery store e and make your own healthy version of the fast foods that you eat. Good luck.

It's on!

Thursday, August 20, 2009

I recently got on the scale to find out what I already knew...I had gained unwanted wieght. Dang! It's my own fault though - I was not holding myself accountable for the things I should have been doing - exercising and watching what I eat. No more of that. I spent the summer miserably over weight and not feeling my best physically because of it. It's on now! Goodbye pounds!

Say What!@@#$%#@

Tuesday, January 13, 2009

I wiegh more now than I did when I started! What gives - something ain't right! All I know is I am tired of breathing hard when I climb the stairs at night. I missed my workout yesterday but I'm back on it today. I did get my veggies in though. I'm sort of roughing it today - I had 3 hours of sleep with a sick infant. I'll get at least 20 min in though. emoticon

Sleep plays a major part in your diet. Make sure you get plenty of rest. I you miss a routine, don't worry about, pick it up later. As long as you stay on the wagon we can go to Diva-ville girl!!!!!
