I had a first goal to be at 140 by Monday the day my middle son graduates from High School. I did not make that goal, but for me it is just another number. What I have reached is so much more. I found myself again. My confidence has soared.
My body has changed for the better. I actually see some definition on my stomach, the beginning of the new me.
I am not disappointed by not reaching my goal since I know that I will reach it in due time. At first we are all in a big hurry to see it "melt" off. That is unrealistic. We all reach plateau's. I myself have had many of them, and have not given up. It has only made me work harder. Just like anything else in life if you truly want something you have to work for it. Nothing is going to just fall into your lap.
So even if by numbers I did not reach that goal, what I have reached is a healthier me. A person who has muscular legs, the beginning of sculpted arms, a little definition in the belly and what my youngest son (7) says, less of Mommy to hug.

I say WAY TO GO!! That is a great way to think about it. It is true what you said, sometimes the numbers can get you down, but I am trying to use them as motivation instead. You will achieve the goals that you want to achieve cause you are not giving up!

Now that I have been on this lifestyle journey of change it seems that my whole family has decided to join in.
My husband is now walking early in the mornings and is excited to see that his pants no longer fit. He brags to me with glee that his belt is past its last notch, he had to make another one. That if he did not have a belt his pants would just fall off.
My 17 year old son, has stopped complaining that there is nothing to eat. He now knows that he should just grab a piece of fruit and eat it. We have not had any "high sugar" snacks in this house for months. He only stopped complaining yesterday. When he sat down and stated " I am finishing this melon", as if to dare me to say no.
A few days ago I walked into my family room and noticed that my 7 year old was sitting on the floor with the dumbbell set opened at his feet, he was using the bar that you place the weights on as his weight. He said I want to be fit too. I told him that it was great. Last night I saw him doing sit ups in his bed.
He is the only lean one out of us but I am not telling him to stop, he just wants to be included.
I am so happy to see that my family has joined in on my odyssey, and that we will accomplish this as a family, a healthy family.

Last night I went to visit a friend who is having surgery tomorrow.
While we were at her house she mentioned that she just came back from an exercise class. We used to have the same trainer but I left after a falling out with the trainer. She said some harsh words to me about not losing weight fast enough and I got insulted and stopped going to her.
My friend said that the trainer told my friend how proud she was of me of losing 23 pounds on my own, without any help from a gym, and that she is telling people how motivated I have been.
It was nice to hear it.
What she does not know is that I have had support and it was found right here.

Finally after a fast weight loss of 23 lubs and 2 months of a plateau I stepped on the scale yesterday and a big pound was missing off my weight. I was so happy that I ran down the hallway to tell my husband.
Hopefully this is the end of the plateau and the beginning of the next ten or nine that will let me meet my first goal of being 140 again. The first time in 3 years.

The last week I have been so busy wrapping up all the end of year activities before school ends. I am just so tired and I caught my little one's cold.
Between going to work, and school visits, PTA meetings, dinners an school board stuff I am dragging to get to the exercise, not that I am not doing them.
So looking forward to the weekend so I don't have to drag myself out of bed at 5:30.
Next week there is no slow down either. 2 meetings I need to attend. Boy I can't wait for school to end.
