For those of us that have had this experience....Whew! What a relief to learn this...
Ever walk into a room with some purpose in mind, only to completely forget what that purpose was?
Turns out, doors themselves are to blame for these strange memory lapses.
Psychologists at the University of Notre Dame have discovered that passing through a doorway triggers what's known as an event boundary in the mind, separating one set of thoughts and memories from the next.
Your brain files away the thoughts you had in the previous room and prepares a blank slate for the new locale.
It's not aging, it's the darn door!
Thank goodness for studies like this.

I wish I knew who wrote this so I could give them their credit due....but I had to share the lovely writing of this wise and gentle person.
The Winter of Life.....
You know. . . Time has a way of moving quickly
And catching you unaware of the passing years.
It seems just yesterday that I was young,
Just married and embarking on my new life with my mate.
And yet in a way, it seems like eons ago,
And I wonder where all the years went.
I know that I lived them all...
And I have glimpses of how it was back then and of all my
hopes and dreams...
But, here it is... The winter of my life and it catches me by
surprise...
How did I get here so fast?
Where did the years go and where did my youth go?
I remember well...
Seeing older people through the years and thinking that those
Older people were years away from me and that winter was so
far off
That I could not fathom it or imagine fully what it would be
like...
But, here it is...
My friends are retired and getting grey...
They move slower and I see an older person now.
Some are in better and some worse shape than me...
But, I see the great change...
Not like the ones that I remember who were young and
vibrant...
But, like me, their age is beginning to show and we are now
those
Older folks that we used to see and never thought we'd be.
Each day now, I find that just getting a shower is a real
target for the day!
And taking a nap is not a treat anymore... it's mandatory!
'Cause if I don't on my own free will... I just fall asleep
where I sit!
And so, now I enter into this new season of my life unprepared
For all the aches and pains and the loss of strength and
ability
To go and do things that I wish I had done but never did!!
But, at least I know, that though the winter has come,
And I'm not sure how long it will last...
This I know, that when it's over... Its over...
Yes, I have regrets.
There are things I wish I hadn't done...
Things I should have done, but indeed,
There are many things I'm happy to have done.
It's all in a lifetime...
So, if you're not in your winter yet...
Let me remind you, that it will be here faster than you think.
Whatever you would like to accomplish in your life, please do
it quickly!
Don't put things off too long!!
Life goes by quickly. So, do what you can today,
As you can never be sure whether this is your winter or not!
You have no promise that you will see all the seasons of your
life...
So, live for today and say all the things you want your loved
ones to remember...
And hope they appreciate and love you for all the things
You have done for them in all the years past!!
Life is a gift to you.
The way you live your life is your gift to those who come
after.
Make it a fantastic one.

"PAY ATTENTION FOLKS."...IT IS YOUR BUSINESS!!!!!!
Costco sells Goodyear wiper blades for almost half the price that you
will pay on the outside and they are made in the U.S.A.
Read and do the following.
Unfortunately, our politicians and top CEO's have pushed for trade to
china and mexico for years so
Americans are now out of work.
Did you know that there is no electric coffee maker made in the US,
and that the only kitchen appliances made in the US is Viking?
This information came from a report made by Diane Sawyer. Hopefully
this has changed or will soon!!
I DIDN'T KNOW HALLMARK CARDS WERE MADE IN CHINA ! That is also why I
don't buy cards at Hallmark anymore. They are made in China and are
more expensive! I buy them at Dollar Tree - 50 cents each and made in
USA
I have been looking at the blenders available on the Internet. Kitchen
Aid is MADE IN the US. Top of my list already...
Yesterday I was in Wal Mart looking for a wastebasket. I found some
made in China for $6.99. I didn't want to pay that much so I asked the
lady if they had any others. She took me to another department and
they had some at $2.50 made in USA . They are just as good. Same as a
kitchen rug I needed. I had to look, but I found some made in the USA
- what a concept! – and they were $3.00 cheaper.
We are being brainwashed to believe that everything that comes from
China and Mexico is cheaper. Not so.
One Light Bulb at a Time..
I was in Lowe's the other day and just out of curiosity, I looked at
the hose attachments. They were all made in China. The next day I was
in Ace Hardware and just for the heck of it I checked the hose
attachments there. They were made in USA .
Start looking, people . . ...In our current economic situation, every
little thing we buy or do affects someone else – most often, their
job.
My grandson likes Hershey's candy. I noticed, though, that it is now
marked "made in Mexico ." I don't buy it anymore.
My favorite toothpaste Colgate is made in Mexico ...now I have
switched to Crest.
You have to read the labels on everything.
This past weekend I was at Kroger . . . I needed 60W light bulbs and
Bounce dryer sheets. I was in the light bulb aisle, and right next to
the GE brand I normally buy - was an off-brand labeled, "Everyday
Value." I picked up both types of bulbs and compared them: they were
the same except for the price . . .the GE bulbs cost more than the
Everyday Value brand, but the thing that surprised me the most was
that GE was made in MEXICO and the Everyday Value brand was made in -
you guessed it - a company in Cleveland, Ohio USA.
It's way past time to start finding and buying products you use every
day that are made right here.
So, on to the next aisle: Bounce Dryer Sheets... yep, you guessed it,
Bounce cost more money and is made in Canada. The Everyday Value brand
cost less, and was MADE IN THE USA. Did laundry yesterday and the
dryer sheets performed just like the Bounce Free I have been using for
years, at almost half the price.
My challenge to you is to start reading the labels when you shop for
everyday things and see what you can find that is made in the USA -
the job you save may be your own or your neighbor's!
If you accept the challenge, pass this on to others in your address
book so we can all start buying American, one light bulb at a time!
Stop buying from overseas companies - you're sending the jobs there.
(We should have awakened a decade ago....)
Let's get with the program and help our fellow Americans keep their
jobs and create more jobs here in the USA. Support the products that
are " Made in the USA "
I passed this on .. .. . will you???
A friend sent this to me, I don't know it's origin, but it sounds like a good idea to me.

OK...I've been pretty lax lately. Totally bagged the gym ( ????? I loved going to the gym), I'm eating pretty healthy, but portions are getting larger & larger! (not good, I know better) plus, I've been "cheating" with not-so-healthy snacks! ( A lot!) Add that all together...what do you get??? WEIGHT GAIN!!!!! "Oh my, what's a girl to do?"...Oh knock it off, I know EXACTLY what to do, get back on the Sparkpeople program. Track my food, use my favorites & Spark Recipes to remind me what I should shop for and prepare for healthy meals & snacks. Re-involve myself with my Spark Teams & friends. Most of all, for me, I've got to get back to my exercise routine...it really works! No more excuses, I'm dragging this butt to the gym come he[[ or high water!
So Sparkfriends, I'm back....I set smaller goals, within a shorter span of time, that will make easier to reach so I'm not as likely to become frustrated...once that goal is reached I will set another one, maybe small, but attainable...I will get back to where I was (when I got lazy) in a few months time. Then I will set some new goals... I've done it before, and I know I can do it again!...."With A Little Help From My Friends"

A little fun from the wee ones! Hope it makes you smile....ENJOY!
KIDS IN CHURCH
3-year-old Reese :
'Our Father, Who does art in heaven,
Harold is His name.
Amen.'
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A little boy was overheard praying:
'Lord, if you can't make me a better boy, don't worry about it.
I'm having a real good time like I am.'
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After the christening of his baby brother in church,
Jason sobbed all the way home in the back seat of the car.
His father asked him three times what was wrong.
Finally, the boy replied,
'That preacher said he wanted us brought up in a Christian home,
and I wanted to stay with you guys.'
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One particular four-year-old prayed,
'And forgive us our trash baskets
as we forgive those who put trash in our baskets.'
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A Sunday school teacher asked her children as they
were on the way to church service,
'And why is it necessary to be quiet in church?'
One bright little girl replied,
'Because people are sleeping.'
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A mother was preparing pancakes for her sons, Kevin 5, and Ryan 3
The boys began to argue over who would get the first pancake.
Their mother saw the opportunity for a moral lesson..
'If Jesus were sitting here, He would say,
'Let my brother have the first pancake, I can wait.'
Kevin turned to his younger brother and said,
' Ryan , you be Jesus !'
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A father was at the beach with his children
when the four-year-old son ran up to him,
grabbed his hand, and led him to the shore
where a seagull lay dead in the sand..
'Daddy, what happened to him?' the son asked.
'He died and went to Heaven,' the Dad replied.
The boy thought a moment and then said,
'Did God throw him back down?'
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A wife invited some people to dinner..
At the table, she turned to their six-year-old daughter and said,
'Would you like to say the blessing?'
'I wouldn't know what to say,' the girl replied.
'Just say what you hear Mommy say,' the wife answered.
The daughter bowed her head and said,
'Lord, why on earth did I invite all these people to dinner?'
