Just researching, want to save these to look at later.

I think the pain I'm feeling is this Rhomboid stuff. Lots of photos, diagrams, recommended stretches, etc.

back ache - Friday

Friday, September 30, 2011

I'm thinking I might try the health bounce today. Saw your comments yesteday, thanks. It hurts to sit at the computer. It mostly hurts to twist from the right side towards left or downward left. It's not hurting in the spinal column...

But being home today and getting a little extra rest and drinking some olive oil to help break up crud, it seems a bit less achey. I had to leave at some point to pick up a box at the post office and take some checks to the bank to deposit and I noticed picking up my purse was MURDER. So I cleared out a pound or two of debris... not enough I'm sure, but enough to take the edge off. I have NEVER been able to hang a purse on my left shoulder. I'm right handed, and I guess my left shoulder just slopes too much, and purses all fall off... even thin lightweight "wallet on a sting" types. I can't stand having purses hang around my neck cross my body, so it's the right shoulder and it was not feeling good today.

Anyway being home and being able to drink all the water I want, I was able to use the bathroom more and the more #2's, the more my back seemed to improve.

I actually toyed with the idea of going to my chiropractor here, especially since I just found out they've recently hired a person to do massages. May have to check into going back to her. I was going to another one in Wichita that came and spoke to our local Curves group about 10 years ago, and after that pre-stated program of treatments (something like 75 visits?), I stopped going and they moved out of town I found out a few years ago. But this late in the day Friday I don't imagine they are open right now, and will probably just have to do a new-patient workup again??

But yea I think pinched nerve is right... I've noticed when I haven't been eating right , I get this way, and it's as if I'm "backed up" clear up to my armpits... and I'll notice little achey areas on other parts of my right side, like here on my right side wrist, down the back of my right leg, etc. (so I'm totally sure the Chinese Medicine system of neural pathways is as valid as what I see in the Chiro's office....).

Sitting here at the computer doesn't help much ... heh.

Yea....
a health bounce sounds good. Then maybe a walk later if I survive the health bounce.

Ohhh and yesterday I got my box of Nutiva's Chocolate Hemp Bar with all sorts of yummo seeds - chia, flax, the hemp, maybe sesame? I forget. It's SOOO tasty! Should give me some healthy fats to help rotor-rooter on through the system!!

Thanks for your comments!!

BACK IS ACHING!!

Friday, September 30, 2011

Not sure what I did, but my back is aching - kinda below right shoulder blade but also back of right elbow etc. I suspect it's my digestion and some trigger point massage might be helpful. May have to break down and allow myself to buy a trigger point tool... not too many places around for midnight reflexology or trigger point massage... heh.

Love "trigger" massage! Hope you get better!

I finally got an inversion table. Along with valerian supplement from time to time for muscle relaxant, and health bounce for 10 minutes, and the inversion table - hardly have to go to chiropractor any more...unless I just don't use what I have emoticon LOL!

Maybe if you do some slow walking - that might work some kinks out?

HUGS!!

Tuesday mid-day

Tuesday, September 27, 2011

I went for a walk this morning BEFORE getting on SparkPeople. I have this "loop" (we don't have rectangular "blocks" like parts of Wichita does. I think the planner here platted the roads out by knocking a bowl of cooked spaghetti onto the floor and where the spaghetti landed, that's how he platted the roads. It's very strange, to me, but then again, not much different than some of the curvy roads like outside Atlanta or in the Ozarks etc. Just that I'm used to the 8 blocks n/s and 16 blocks e/w to the mile "format" done in most of the Wichita area.). So anyway, this one loop I recently discovered, is just over a mile (it's saved under "anonymous". Pretty well blows my cover, eh?).

Well...the Prairie Fire Marathon and 4 or 5 smaller races, coming up October 9th, will also include a 5K run/walk. 5K is roughly 3.1 miles - and I can easily walk that, no problem. Running, eh I'm not going to be ready, I'm fairly certain, although I might be able to pull off a fast runnish-waddle during part of it, to bring my time in better. I've walked/run this route before, using the MPH setting on my iMapMyWalk app, but today I turned on the KM setting and sure enough, it was just over 5 km. But...I hadn't walked in several days and hadn't eaten right and today my time was really bad, just over 59 minutes but less than 30 seconds (and there is no way to post HH:MM: and :SS on the SparkPeople Fitness Tracker. (***SIGH***)

So I rounded it down to 59 instead of up to 60 minutes. I didn't check it both ways to see which would favor me on the total calories burned. I figure it's a wash - I either burned more calories because I walked "faster" or I burned more calories because I walked "longer".

Go figure.

Now I feel sleepy...is it because I'm truly tired? or is it because I really need to eat something as I only had an apple for breakfast and 2 or 3 pieces of dark chocolate haystack blobs from the Nifty Nut House (you who are from Wichita, you can laugh with great understanding... assuming that you even KNOW about "The Nifty Nut House".).

(humming "They're coming to take me away, hee hee, haa haa, ho ho, hoo hoo.... the men in white..." etc however the rest of that song goes...).

Think I'll take a leeettle bitty nap....

I delivered FedEx Home Delivery in Wichita for 5 years (everything north of 21st St.) and, especially in the newer additions, there are a LOT of spaghetti neighborhoods......lol. I like walking/jogging on the curvy streets, makes things more interesting :)
