Level 1 complete!

Saturday, March 23, 2013

So I completed level 1 of the shred on Wednesday, took a break Thursday and started level 2 yesterday. Since my binge eating, I went up from160 to 165 pounds before starting the shred. I've lost 1 pound in 10 days but I've gotten stronger and seeing more of my collar bones emoticon (They were hiding for many years-lol).

I've tracked my food intake for the week and tried to stay at the lower end of my range. I'm eating healthier and started eating salads before my main meal which surprising has kept me full and refrain me from over eating.

I stepped on the scale this morning and it went down 2 more pounds but I won't count it since its not my weigh in day.

Going out for Japanese food tonight, so I'll make sure to do the shred and eat lightly during the day in case I over do it and to stick with 1 glass of wine as well.

Level 2 of the shred is just as intense as level 1. My upper body is really feeling it since its my weakest link. By the time I hit day 5 in level 1, things seemed at bit easier and I was starting to get bored. So I tuned out Jillian and played hype music while doing the exercise to push me to my fullest.

Yesterday when I began level 2 I worked up a sweat. I had to stop several times as well to catch my breath. So when I woke up this morning, the exercises I had difficulty with I did 4 reps of 8 to play catch up on what I struggled with yesterday & to make my workout feel complete. I worked up a sweat doing that as well but it felt good! Have a great weekend everyone!

By the way, I'll take my measurements once I've completed the entire 30 days!

My body aches & I am great!!

Tuesday, March 12, 2013

So, I'm on day 2 of the shred. And what can I say, my body is SORE!! emoticon This is the kind of kick ass exercises that my body needed. My body aches and I feel great! Yesterday I did 6 push-ups till I started to tremble, today I got up to 8. emoticon My arms and legs are definitely feeling it though.

I took some before pics today and when I've completed this challenge, I'll take another set to make the comparisons. Here are my measurements:

Hips: 41 inches
waist: 35 inches
bust: 35 inches
rt upper thigh: 24.25 inches
lft upper thigh: 24 inches
weight: 165 pounds (taken at the end of the day instead of first thing in the morning like I usually do)

The tracking is going well. I am more conscious about what I put in my mouth now. Have a great week Spark friends!!

I think I sabotaged my weight loss!!!

Monday, March 11, 2013

Well, as some of you may know, I was working out religiously to Shaun T's workouts for approximately 3 weeks before I got bored and quit. I have to say I gained a lot of stamina for cardio, but I didn't lose any weight. Actually, I think I sabotaged my own weight loss emoticon . It all started at night. After getting the kids off to bed & getting some ME time, I would make a cup of tea as usual but then I would add cookies. Then another night, it would be cookies & a bowl of cereal. Then after that, it would be cookies, cereal, maybe ice cream or just something to snack on. I was in total denial that I'm an emotional eater.

When I'm stressed, bored or have a million of the wrong things running through my mind I turn to food. So basically, after doing a killer workout, I would over eat & not even realize it. I was in denial about the scale. I figured, it CAN'T be me emoticon . So I took some time to reflect and I told myself I am going to readjust some things in my life starting with tracking my food intake. It's been a looooooooooooong time since I've last done this, so I will track for this week, sticking to the lower end of my caloric intake.

I have decided to give myself a kick in the ass & revert back to Jillian Michaels 30 day shred. I need something to shock my muscles & bones and get me back into high gear. Hopefully with the warmer weather approaching, I can walk for 20 minutes in the evenings as well for a couple of nights a week (starter).

I will weigh myself & take my measurements in the morning, since that's what I'm accustomed to doing. I managed to do day 1 of the shred & boy did I sweat emoticon & my arms are killing me emoticon (hate those push ups). So I will continue this workout out taking a day or 2 (max) per week of rest till I complete this challenge.

My goal: Is to look ripped emoticon and sexy for my birthday dress emoticon

I know exactly how you feel...I battle with the same thing every day when I come home from work. Just keep tracking..it really helps me..even if I happen to go over my calories I can look at it and realize where I went wrong and what maybe tomorrow I can do to fix it! :) Good luck!

For me, tracking is non-negotiable. When I track nutrition, I lose; when I don't, I don't, period. Good luck with tracking this week and hopefully it will help you out! emoticon

I know exactly what you mean about self-sabatoge. I'm a victim of that myself. It's great that you recognized what was happening and have a plan to conquer it. You can totally do this!

It's time for a challenge!

Monday, February 04, 2013

So, January is over and I've been working out at least 5x/week. Although the scale hasn't budged I'm not upset because I am getting stronger, gaining muscle, sleeping better & losing some inches here & there. So since February has the shortest days in the month, I need to give myself a challenge and stop the after hours snacking!! emoticon Yes, I am guilty of this and perhaps this is one of the reasons why the scale hasn't really moved too. I also have to stop stressing over things in my personal life that are out of my control and just focus on me & looking sexier in my birthday dress! emoticon

So this month, I will be doing Shaun T's Rockin body workout challenge. I'll be working out 6 days/week and each day will be a different workout. At times I'll have to double up a workout too. I'm going to gradually reduce my mindless after dinner snacking as well. I'm aiming to lose even a pound since it has been a while since I've lost anything. So hopefully by challenging myself I can obtain more results! Here's to a fantastic February! Wish me luck!

It's great that you have a different workout each of the 6 days. That'll keep your muscles from routine movements.

Good Luck! I know you can do it. Are you following the workout schedule for Rockin Body? I love these DVD's. I did the challenge over the summer and it was fun (hard but fun). I still do them know and rotate with other DVD's

I bought it!

Saturday, January 12, 2013

So I've been eying this dress for a few months now & I said, "I've got to have it!" I would like to wear it for my 35th birthday this coming May, but at the time it was $150. So i waited & waited. Then I went in on boxing day, sure enough, the dress was still there & it was on sale for $70. So I searched for my size (Large) but none was available emoticon . They had a size small & XL left emoticon . The sales woman asked me to try on the small. I was like, " are you for real, my ass won't even get into that." So I tried it on, it got on my body but it was veeeeerrrrrry tight and it cinched at my hips sooooo much it was just ridiculous. BUT, I said IF they had a size medium, I would buy it & work my way into it, but they didn't. So I left the store unhappy & in search of a new dress.

Today, I decided to go into the store just to see if by some chance a miracle had happened and they had my size. And sure enough they did. And to top it off it was reduced again to $48.50 emoticon emoticon . So I grabbed the medium and found earrings to go with the dress as well. I had received a $50 gift card for that store for Christmas, so I only ended up spending $10.13 of my own money for my dress & earrings!! emoticon

As soon as I got home I tried it on. It fits! But it could be a little more loose around my mid-section & those darn love handles!! So my goal for the next 5 months is to look sexier in that dress! And of course I'll post pics for all of you to see!

So, 2 pounds down, my goal is to lose 15 pounds by my birthday (May 17) and to be much leaner than I am now! So here's to 13 more pounds to lose! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
