It's Not You, It's Me

Sunday, July 24, 2011

It's been about a month since my last post, and a couple weeks since I last logged onto Spark. My exercise and eating habits have fallen by the wayside and yet again, I find myself starting over -- however, I'm not considering it a total loss, since I've caught myself before things became too out of hand.

So what's up with the title of this post? Well, to be honest, lately I feel sort of put down when I log onto Spark, instead of inspired and motivated like I usually am. It has nothing at all to do with you all -- everyone on Spark IS great and totally motivating, but it's me. I've been on Spark for a couple years now and I always end up declining someway or another. So I've decided to try something else. Instead of pressuring myself to write blog posts everyday, or log in everyday, or trying to calculate and log everything I do/eat on SP, I'm going to take a step back and focus on the bigger picture. Don't get me wrong, I love Spark and it has helped me through some tough times, but I think it's time for me to actually focus on ME -- not on making sure I keep up the perfect profile and dozens of streaks/goals I've set for myself.

I guess you can say the pressure has gotten to me -- but instead of letting it take hold of me and make me feel like a failure, I'm going to step back now while I still have fond memories of Spark. Note: I am NOT quitting Spark or deleting my account or never logging back on. But I am taking a little break and will not be on as often. I don't know if this is the right route to go, but like I said, I've tried Spark multiple times and it's time to try something new. Who knows, I might get my spark back next week and be back on everyday! But I'm not holding myself to anything except happiness, which I know I will always deserve.

Lots of love and happy sparking to everyone!

Take care of yourself --- and do what is best for you! Hopefully it will work out for you to come back to Spark at some future point ... we will miss you ... but you need to do what is best for you. Take care! Sheila emoticon emoticon emoticon

I wish you all the best. Perhaps it is time for a break.... when anything becomes a chore it is less effective. I hope you find your stride, Pink Lady! Good luck!

You do what is good for you and what helps you and what works. This is all about YOU. But remember we are always here for support. Wishing you the best.

Good Luck and I think everyone agrees that do what you have to do to live healthy whether it be being on SP everyday or taking a step back.

Yeah, when you're not in the mood for Spark its strongly positive attitude can come off as kind of annoying. Hehe.

I know exactly how you feel. I too have done this. I don't log my food or all my exercise and I don't worry any more about making sure that I keep my streaks going, because it was too much pressure. I use spark to keep me focused; remind myself that I am not alone in this. I comment when I am moved to and don't when I am not. I haven't written a blog in ages and I never comment randomly on other people's spark pages. For me, it has worked. I have continued to lose weight, make healthy eating choices, work out when I can, and when it all comes down in the end - this is the lifestyle change. Spark won't always be there for you when you need support, but you will always be there for you. Good luck and remember that when you need a lift - we will all be here for you!

Sucky Posts

Sunday, June 26, 2011

These blog posts have been sucky lol. I realize that :) BUT like I said yesterday, I'll be reseting at the first of the month -- which includes more thought-provoking/detailed blog posts. One streak I have kept up with is logging onto SP... oh, and drinking water! That has to count for something, right? I'm thinking yes :)

It all counts! I'm resetting as well. I have new fastbreak goals and am just focusing on them for now. If I go over, I'm not freaking out and running away from it. I'm tracking it, and that's a success for now!

I'm going to reset my goals and streaks again at the beginning of the month. I've actually been doing REALLY well with them, but I want to start over so I can actually pay attention and keep track of my streak progress. Won't be that big of a deal since like I said, I've been doing well so far (drinking water, logging food, writing blogs, etc), but I just like the idea of "starting fresh" and the start of a new month is the perfect opportunity to do just that.

I too have thought about resetting my goal weight because it just isn't small enough. I am just trying to reach it and then reset. Good luck

I agree, there's something exciting about a fresh blank slate - it can be as great as you make it!

Sounds good!! I thought about reseting my stuff, but I haven't done it yet! I was doing good with logging in everyday, until ONE time this month, i think it was the 10th of the month and I didn't spin the wheel that day!! I was so annoyed!! Lol, good luck with your goals!

I'm Grateful

Friday, June 24, 2011

... for the simple and little things.

Like electricity, lol. And being alive. Friends. Family. My dog. My (relative) health. My accomplishments. My perseverance. My optimism. My smile. My laughter. My BF. Happy memories. Lessons learned.

And, let us not forget, my upcoming vacation! :))

Food For Thought...

Thursday, June 23, 2011

- Strive for progress, not perfection.

- If you donít make mistakes, you arenít really trying.

- Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going.

- It's never too late to become what you might have been.

- Clear your mind of canít.
