Just a quick post, before I'm off and running.
No mother could be any happier and proud than I am of all my six kids! With oldest DS receiving his Master's this weekend, it has just reaffirmed to me that my kids are absolutely the best! They all have degrees, and 3 have advanced degrees; five of the six are married and very, very happy! They're all gainfully employed...ahhh, life is good!
Another busy week on the horizon, but that's good. "Not busy" is boring and an excuse to eat too much and not get in the exercise. Working so hard, in the garden, has really contributed to my steady weight loss over the past couple of weeks. So, I look forward to continuing that trend for the rest of the summer!

Woo Hoo! Three pound loss last week, and am I happy or what? Oh, yes!
I'm really surprised, because although I didn't have any really bad episodes of eating outside my plan, I didn't stick to it religiously. It just shows that as long as I stay within reasonable guidelines, the weight can still come off.
This week will be another intensive 7 days. There's something out of the ordinary every day, but, hey, that's life; and I have to learn to function in these circumstances. I know that's why God allows it...

Wow, I can't believe April just came and went... It's almost summertime!
Hopefully, this will be the time of year when I can be the most successful in moving toward my "healthy me" goal. With all the opportunities to be outdoors and the healthy, fresh fruits and vegetables available, there'll be no excuse for not moving forward.

It's funny--just when I think I'm going to have a whole week, to myself, to get organized, my calendar explodes with obligations. This coming week is no exception.
Tonight we took dinner to DS and DIL, tomorrow night we go to see our DGD's concert and Thursday is another DGD's birthday celebration. On Friday we bring two DGS's home with us for the weekend. As my dear mother used to say, "There's no rest for the weary..." or was that "wicked?"
I am going to MAKE the time to do some serious gardening this week, however. Working in the yard is the heart of my exercise program this time of year; and I definitely don't want to cut back on that... Eating has been so-so. I've not binged by any stretch of the imagination, but I've been in a couple of situations (dinner at church yesterday for instance) where there were too many temptations and too little self control! My only consolation is that at my other meals, I have stayed right on program.

Wow, Winnie the Pooh would feel right at home here today! I don't know how fast the wind is gusting, but the huge oak tree (probably 100 years old) is swaying outside the window. It is clear and sunny, though, which gives me hope that I'll actually be able to plant some stuff tomorrow.
Last week was pretty much a washout for healthy eating and exercise. I only went to Curves 2x and ate way too much stuff not on my plan. I've got to get to the point where I don't let "changes in routine" sabotage my healthy way of living. Having Thomas (5 years old) last weekend, Adam (3 years old) all during the week and then Ethan (3 years old) over this past weekend, just gave me an excuse not to be thoughtful about what I was eating. I have GOT to get past this and stop using it as an excuse not to stay on task...
