TGIF - Tweetie Bird Gone Mad!

Friday, May 13, 2011

Thank goodness its Friday and this work day is finally over. I had hoped to get to the gym this morning before work, but I woke up in the middle of the night and it took so long to fall back to sleep that I was too pooped and out of sorts to "party" this morning.

We have a cardinal, that is frustrating me to no end. It starts its incessant tweeting, chirping emoticon mate calling, whatever you want to label it, around 3:00 to 3:30 AM. It reminds you of those movies with the barking dog that won't be quiet. This bird can pierce through the deepest sleeps. Once it wakes me up, it's impossible to fall back to sleep because it doesn't stop.

I'm an early riser and a light sleeper, but this bird is starting to p(*& me off. I do not do well, when I'm sleep deprived and its woken me up 4 early mornings this week.

I will never harm it, but I sure wish it would find a new neighbourhood, get over whatever is causing it to chirp so loud, or just shut up!

To all the bird lovers, I apologize, but seriously could it keep it down! I just want to get some sleep...... emoticon

Here's hoping, I sleep through the night and when I awake, the sun is shining emoticon, the birds aren't singing emoticon, and I get in a really good workout!

Have a nice night fellow Sparkers!

do you put a towel or some cloth over the cage at night, so the upcoming sunrise is well-hidden from your daytime heralder?

Oh - I hear you!! I have this problem coming up for sure. As soon as it starts to get a little warmer here and I open up the bedroom windows for sleeping - I am always awaken by the darn birds. Hope you get some sleep soon!

You could do what my parents would do....buy a BB gun and aim for it! LOL. :)

I prefer the more humane way....buy earplugs. :)

Hugs mama!

Cats Day 6

Thursday, May 12, 2011

Yesterday was a bust working out. I got a mile walk in but little else. Tied to my work PC when I wasn't in continual meetings.

Today, I was out the door at 5AM. 40 mins of weights and then another 40 of cardio. Quick shower and back home. Waiting for DS to finish up, so I can get him to school, pick up some gas (its below 1.35/litre today for a change) and then another busy day at work No rest for the wicked! emoticon

Have a great day fellow sparkers!

Lube Oil and Filter

Tuesday, May 10, 2011

I took my SUV in for its 5K maintenance today. Surprisingly with all the football running around, it still only has 4300 KMS on it....not bad since I bought it in January. That will change once out of towns games start at the end of May....Ottawa is first on the list 5.5 hours driving each way.

In under half an hour, oil was changed, filters were replaced, fluids topped up, and an overall inspection done. emoticon And I had a coupon, so I got it all done for $20.00

As I'm sitting waiting, sipping my coffee, emoticon I thought to myself. "Wouldn't it be great if we could do that? Boy would it save some time if we could just change out the parts, top up our fluid levels and we're in tip top change till the next 5K rolls around. "

I'm kidding of course......oh to dream! We'd certainly get to the finish line quicker! emoticon

Have a great day Sparkers.....hope you get to your finish line! emoticon

but we DO things like that... as if our body were a machine...
and sometimes we treat them as if we were in some kind of rally, like the monster trucks or something....

Well, at least we can heal with a few days in the "garage" instead of a few days with the mechanic!

Have safe trips to Ottawa. I was born there but never back, but we thought of moving there when hubby retired from military but we stayed closer to his family. we are in NS they are in PEI.

    Great analogy Shortie!
A good reminder maybe that it's important we keep an eye on our fuel levels and keep the spark plugs,,,,errr Sparking emoticon

Yes that would be great! Cute comparison. I guess it takes more to keep the human body more in order to stay a well oiled machine!

Mother's Day

Sunday, May 08, 2011

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom Sparkers. I'm taking the day off from the gym. I've giving my back a rest and icing today.

I picked up fresh lobster for dinner tonight....oh I cannot wait. Salad, veggies and lobster. What can be better than that!

After dinner, DS has football practice. What man thought up an 8PM start to 10PM is beyond me, but it is what it is. I will be so glad when these late Sunday night practices come to an end. We don't get back home till almost 11, and it makes for a tired Monday morning.

I'll do the track walk, emoticon if its not too messy under foot, while he's practicing. It was a mucky mess on Wednesday, but it was nice yesterday, so it may have dried up a bit. Hopefully the weather holds for the evening.

Have a great day everyone!

The track! The track! I think I am a train!
I do like tracks, though, part-time. A chiropractor once told me to walk backward, sometimes, on a track! I don't know about running like that, though-lol.
