Some thoughts on goals

Friday, July 01, 2011

Hello guys!

I was doing some reading on the comments on my page which made me think about it all last night and something really bothered me so I thought that I would blog about it today.

I noticed people mentioning "I wish I could do that.. but I can't", which bugged the heck out of me! Anyone that you see on sparkpeople, in a fitness magazine or anywhere else are NOT super human. They do not have some special skill that you do not in order to get to the goals that they set, including the body that they have. They set a goal, worked hard, did some research and put the effort into getting there. That is not saying that they didn't do it without making some sacrifices (social included) to get there, but the word "can't" was NEVER in their vocabulary. Sure there is tough days where you just want to eat a whole chocolate cake or a whole bag of chips (yes dip included) and do nothing.. but that will only get you backwards.

So those of you who are mentally not there or thinking that they "can't get to where they want, they can. There will always be people to try to push you down, tell you that you can't do something or try to make you do what they want.. but you have the ultimate control. It is your body, your mind and your goals. Own them and you can make them happen. Always remember that and think of that each day that you move to whatever your goal may be.

You are a winner, we all believe in you and you should too - GO GET IT!

Happy Fitness!!

You said it! I noticed that on your page, too. Way to set us straight, we are only limited by the power of our imaginations!

ADDICTED TO MY BIKE!

Thursday, June 30, 2011

Happy summer everyone!

I have been away for awhile. Busy working, working working.. I actually just got home about an hour ago. yawnnnn... But, I got my bike tires fixed and I heart it so much! I am on it daily. I actually commute to work that way, which makes me feel like a kid before I go in to work.

What do you like to do in the summer time to get some fitness in? :)

Happy Fitness!

Hello, Hello, Hellllooo!

Hey all!

Sorry I have not been here for awhile, been busy working and hitting the gyms in the am. Goal for the year is to do a half-marathon Woot! Why the switch from competiting to Marathons you may ask? I like to learn new things (OK I LOVE), and I learned a ton about competiting and what I am capleable of once I did that. Once I figured out how to make my muscles grow it was amazing! But now I want to work on some different muscles and see what I am capleable of with running. I would like to do an Ultra someday (those are 50 -100 miles) because it will be a new Challenge. Maybe someday I will put on that sparkly suit and strut the stage again.. we will see what the year brings!

I hope you are all having a great new year and thank you for the great notes and E-mails! If you have questions then shoot me an E-mail to my one listed on my sparkpage as I am not on here quite as often. Always willing to offer some help. Remember it is all in your head what you can achieve! :)

Happy Fitness!

Mountains, snow, cold - Oh Mi!

Hi Guys!

I made the leap and I am here in Denver now! Guess I should change that info on my Sparkpage eh?

It has definitely been an adventure so far. Had an AWFUL roommate experience and now I have to replace 95% of my clothing.. sheesh people are strange!

I completed my first 10K while I was here and I can tell you that the Altitude makes a HUGE difference! Once I recovered, I decided that I will do some more in 2010. YAY! Nike+ totally rocks my world!

Hopefully I have a job lead here.. the economy has definitely made finding a job a little more difficult that I thought. Slightly frustrating at times. I will say that if YOU are looking for work, make sure you have the right 'keywords" on there. It will be on the job post. Some HR's use computers to scan through your Resumes so you may be out before you even have a chance!

How is everyone doing on your fitness goals? Don't let the cold weather keep you from reaching your goals!
