Priorities

Monday, December 20, 2010

It is hard to keep priorities right now. It was my moms 88th birthday today. I got her fresh blueberry muffins for breakfast with a card and gift. Her friend was ill today and so she asked me to help her. I did first by taking her temp, she had one, then advising her to call her MD due to her other symptoms. I ended up taking her to her Dr an then to exray and last to get her new scripts at the pharmacy. I had very little time left before I had to take my Mom out for her dinner. Then after thaat I took her around town with another friend to see all the Christmas lights. It was a full day for my Mom. Me did not get to much I had to do today.

But at least I know my Mom is happy. Tomorrow I will take care of me for it will be my birthday and I will be alone and only have myself to deal with.

Glad you have your birthday tomorrow and that you can do whatever you want for yourself! Are you just going to play it by ear, or are there some special things you'll be doing that you really enjoy?

Sounds like you did a great job of making your mom's birthday a good one. I know how you feel when you're doing so much for other people. Keep remembering that you're # emoticon though, okay?

Enjoy all the time you can get with your mom even if it is doing absolutely nothing because time runs out so fast and you can't get it back. My mom was my best friend she died 2002 right before her 64th birthday and even today I would give anything for one more day!

Flu season

Sunday, December 19, 2010

I woke up last night ill and projectile vomiting occurred. Then I emptied my system. I was unable to go to church today. I think it is a 24 hr flu. I have not eaten all day trying to adjust my system. So this is what I am dealing with.

I have been watching Hallmark all day. I do enjoy the Christmas stories and I end up crying a lot too I am a sap.

One week till Christmas. thanks for all the support and love you all have shown me this year.

If it is not one thing it is another, life goes on.

Oh no. It's awful to be sick anytime, but this is especially rough. I hope you feel better real soon! (I cry at Hallmark shows, too.)

Still at it.

Saturday, December 18, 2010

I cannot beleive how long it takes me to do my homemade Christmas cards.I really enjoy doing them and being creative. It is just that it takes a lot of time.

So I am almost done, I will finish them up tomorrow. Then I hope this coming week will be more normal and on track.

Has felt strange I took the whole week off from doing anything it seems. Oh well.

Did making Christmas cards keep you from snacking?
I ask because when I'm really involved in one of my art projects I don't think
about food. It is good therapy.
GOOD FOR YOU for making your own cards. That's creative.

Thursday, December 16, 2010

I will be happy when all the fuss is over. There just is too much going on and then it is done. I just have this next week to get throught. It is my Moms birthday and the next mine and then Christmas. We really have no presents to do we are too old and it si all done already. SO it is just the meal we are going to do.

I have been to tired to do anything troday, I pretty much just gave up today. I just may get to something tomorrow. I will get back on tack the end of the year for sure.

Our Decembers are exactly the same, Rose---and several of us on our board at the same....you're not alone. I've always looked at it like you are now--too much at the same time. Maybe it's time for us to say that God had His reasons for 'sending us all this joy at one time' lol....and just go with it! We can make 60 be a blessing.

I understand what you're saying about being "happy when the fuss is over". I just attended four holidays in the space of one week and can't wait for life to be normal again. I'm tired of rushing and eating whatever food's around me because I'm short on time to plan and prepare my own food.

Not much longer. Hang in there and.......HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
