Hump Day and Plans to Ski...

So I made it through hump day after a "not one of my best" days of work yesterday. I've decided to be "fair" to myself (sometimes it really is all about me), I should make tomorrow my Friday, take the real Friday off work, and go skiing with my DH. This is a GREAT thing. It allows me to take a break, make my DH happy, and get some exercise outside.

Bootcamp Challenge Results for January!!!

Well... The results are finally in as I am just having time to get caught up. My starting weight for the New You Bootcamp Challenge was 176. As of today, I am down to 174.5. Total weight loss is 2.5 lb.

My new measurements are:

Left biceps = 11 (no change)
Chest = 43 (-.5 inches)
Waist = 35 (-2 inches)
Hips = 40 (-2 inches)
Left thigh = 24.25 (-.75 inches)

Total inches lost = 5.25 inches

I can see the change in my body overall. I think I am much stronger than when i began the challenge. I wish I wouldn't have injured my knee during the last week of the challenge and had to back off a little on the workouts. I am going to continue to baby it for the rest of this week and then try to kick it into high gear again. I think mixing the Bootcamp Workouts with Walk Away the Pounds videos may be a better option for me for a while (giving the knee time to rest). If anyone has any thoughts, opinions, or comments on what I could be doing, let me know. I have continued walking. As long as I don't "tweak" the knee sometime during the day, the pain is not there. Some discomfort, but not actual pain at this point. If I do "tweak" it, stairs become impossible and walking becomes difficult...

Anyway, overall January was...

    Way to go! I'm really proud of you! I love the walk away the pounds DVDs...but I have started a serious collection of work out videos just to keep things different so I can't use the I'm board with it excuse!
I always thought YOGA was just for stretching and flexibility but apparently there is a thing called weight loss yoga...who'd have thunk it?!...anyway I picked the DVD up at Wal-Mart it's one of the Biggest Looser DVDs...Bob is a killer...but I really like it and there is not much impact on the knees...it REALLY works your butt and abs...my knees have been crap for a long time and this one doesn't bother my knees but sometimes I have to do the modified version or the pose...the rest of me is a different story but the knees are good...there are three levels of intensity and a warm up and cool down...and the really neat thing is you program it at the beginning so you can change the order or skip a part or just do the warm-up and cool down if you just want something light before bed...it's not expensive like $10...just thought you might want to give it a try!

Can you argue the day after you win the SUPER BOWL!!! I had to go to bat for who I thought played the best and worst in the big game... Who I thought was going to be sticking around and who I thought was going to be yesterday's news. Mind you, I didn't start those arguments, but like a true female from the 'Burgh (greater 'Burgh area in my case)... I'M GOING TO FINISH THE ARGUMENT!!!

Can't wait to see the parade tomorrow!!! This team stuck together all season.

That game SHOULD NEVER have been that close, but we came away with the win... That's what's important. I hope that everyone had a GREAT time tonight and was safe. The party we went to was nice. I followed some of the tips from "10 Tips to Keep from Overeating at a Party" myself. I took something healthier that I knew I liked and chose more of it than other dishes. I also picked other healthier snacks. All in all a SUPER NIGHT!!!

Bootcamp Complete!

I haven't done my stats again yet. I will be *trying* to check in tomorrow. It will depend on what happens with the SUPER BOWL!!! I am thinking that I will keep up with the Bootcamp Workouts for February as much as possible. I may double up my days and do the videos three days a week or modify them so they are more convenient for me. Either way, I started to see positive changes in my body (whether or not they showed on the scale), and I want to keep up with this and see what my body is really capable of!!! Let's get SPARKING, everyone!!!

PS... The optional challenge of shopping today was an easy one!
