Bridal Shower Day... And I'm Sad I'm NOT A Loser!

Sunday, January 25, 2009

Today was my best friend's bridal shower. Everything went really well if I do say so myself. Things went smoothly, and everyone seemed to have a good time. She got tons of wonderful gifts, which they'll hopefully be able to use to make their happy house a home. This is a second marriage for both of them, and they have sort of the "leftovers" from the first failed marriages (in this case, neither of them ended up with much of anything!)... Now they have more really nice stuff to add to the things they have already purchased for their home. emoticon

I think I did pretty well. I tried to keep myself REALLY busy so that I didn't sit down to eat. I thought it would keep me from pigging out on all the good food. I did allow myself to have some of the cabbage and noodles, and I also had some of the Hawaiian Kielbasi that I made myself. I also only had ONE BITE of cake. That was pretty good, right?!?

Well... The bad news of the day is that I'm not a loser. I never thought I'd say that sentence! I am happy that I lost 3.5 lbs last week. I have to hope that my 1.5 lb gain this week is from all the SALT that I put on the cabbage and noodles in the last two days. I never salt food, so I'm going to blame it on that for now. Hopefully, next week I'll have lost that 1.5 back off plus a little more. Either way, I'm going to attack this week full force!

Another little hiccup occurred last night, but I'm going to work around it... When I was doing MFC, I felt a pop in the back of my left leg. Well, it was impossible to do much after that, I kept soldiering through. After I quit using the leg, it seemed to actually get worse. I'm not sure what I've done, but I tripped over a little girl today at the shower, and in the process of catching myself I felt it pop again. Whatever it is, it hurts like H#%$!!! I may have to modify things this week, but I'm not giving up!!!

Glad you had fun at the shower...
Sorry 'bout the pop in the leg...
I understand the wish I would have lost weight feeling...I've had two big weeks, but from Saturday to today I've only lost a whopping .5 but I'm excited about the last two weeks...even if it is water weight. My health teacher is my fit and well teacher from last semester and he brought my weigh in chart from my last class...I forgot exactly how high my top number was...228...AHHHH.
If you can get your hands on a Pilate's mat workout you should be able to do everything with out hurting your leg...the 100s is a crazy ab workout...I can't get all the way through my one dvd yet...but I keep getting closer.
Well I'll talk to you later...love ya!

Basket/Bag Bingo...

Saturday, January 24, 2009

I was invited (begged) to go to a Longaberger Basket and Vera Bradley Bag bingo today that supported a local dance school's dance team. I think this is the second time in my life that I've played bingo... I had a BLAST!!! I won a door prize, which was a Vera Bradley Pink Pinwheel (supports breast cancer) cell phone case, and Momma won a Collector's Edition 2009 Inaugural Basket by Longaberger. Her basket was stuffed with Matrix hair products and a $20 hair/tanning certificate for a semi-local salon. Momma gave me the basket she won (THANKS MOMMA!) because it matches my kitchen. It's all done in Americana and apples. We had also bought 50/50 and raffle tickets for other things that were going on. Well... the 50/50 we weren't even close to winning, but the raffle... That's another story. On the last game of the day, there were several bingos. They did a tie-breaker. The losers of the tie-breakers got 7 raffle tickets to put in the drawing of their choice. Now I went up and purchased an extra batch of tickets and put them in the Longaberger raffle. This basket was HUGE... It was filled with blankets and had a spa package inside to boot! Needless to say... The woman who was the loser of the last bingo also put her raffle tickets in for that one, and she won! I was the next set of numbers... WHAT A BUMMER!!! Oh well... I was actually just glad to have such a fun time. Being a winner (of anything) made it even better!!!

I'm still on track with Bootcamp and my workouts... Weigh-in is tomorrow!!! Fingers crossed that it's another LOSER WEEK!!!

I'd like to tease you endlessly about the bingo thing but the truth is I LOVE to play bingo! I don't go to bingo halls or anything but I love to play at the VFD's bingo tent at the fair...I don't know about now, but you use to play with dried corn!

Can't wait to hear how your weigh-in goes. I am having trouble posting tonight for some reason. Maybe the slow computer. I can't wait to get my laptop fixed!!

Surgery date is here!!!

Friday, January 23, 2009

Like any other thing we're involved in or waiting on, bad things started to happen. I got up at 4:45 am. We were out the door and on the road and made it to the hospital at 6:40. We were told that surgery was at 7 am... Well the nurse assigned to my mom informed her that there was a misunderstanding and surgery was at 9:30 am. We waited for what seemed like forever. I actually fell asleep for a little while when I was sitting up in the chair and leaned over the bed. :-) Miraculously she is happy, healthy, and looking forward to living life one day at a time. I am so proud of you, Momma, for all you have accomplished!!!

Hugs,
Chelle

Bootcamp has turned my fitness commitment around...

Wednesday, January 21, 2009

Before Bootcamp, I was getting in what I thought was "enough" exercise. Now that I've been doing the Bootcamp workouts though, I realize it wasn't nearly enough. The Bootcamp workouts and the workouts on MFC give me MORE energy to get through my day.

I think this Bootcamp is not only going to help me get my body ready for my friend's wedding (and my bridesmaid's dress), but it's getting my body ready for life! I feel stronger and better about myself. The more I do workouts, the more I want to do them.

The only real challenge I've had so far is sometimes having to miss a day's workout, but so far, I've made each and every one of them up!!! I think that even when I've gotten behind, I've not gotten out of the race!!! You can never count me out because once I've got my mind set, I'm going to keep dusting myself off when I fall and start over again...
