It seemed like such a depressing night tonight!!! So many on the message boards were writing of their losses over the past year. It's not to say that we all haven't had our share of hardships over the past year, but I know that we are all truly blessed in some way. It just may require altering our perspectives to realize this fully. I know that I have a lot to be grateful for...

1. Wonderful friends.
2. A DH to share this life with.
3. Financial resiliency... (Fancy way of saying... I've been able to pay off some credit cards!)
4. My health!
5. MY DEAR MOTHER... A Blessing Each & Every Day!!!

The way I see it... If these people can lose so much and still get up each day and put one foot in front of the other and push forward, I can reach my goals. I just have to keep pushing ahead against my own obstacles. When I think of how insurmountable they seem, I will have to remember the struggles that others face to regain this sense of perspective again...

I want to see the glass as half full... Not half empty! (Except the ones I drink every day...)

Last night's game was nothing short of amazing... The crowd in the stadium was CRAZY! The stands were shaking... I yelled my butt off. My throat was sore by the end of the game. It was SO worth it though. I can't imagine having a more drama-filled brawl. Some of those hits are going to be on clip films for the next season. I think the Offense and Special Teams owe the defense dinner... My personal opinion, of course! For all the ebb and flow, when we emerged victorious, I was glad to see Mr. Rooney, Coach Tomlin, and Big Ben thank the Steeler Nation for their support!!!

On another note, we sat right beside a father/son Baltimore fan pair. They were really nice though and took our (verbal) harassment throughout the game. I actually got really pi$$ed off at one point because someone starting throwing cups of beer at them. I already thought that was ignorant... Well, when the third cup thrown hit my husband, I went bananas. I think the people behind me heard words (and combinations of phrases) that they didn't know existed in the English language). For the father/son pair, it was their first time in Heinz Field... They were happy just to be a part of the day... Win or lose. They were graceful in defeat and thanked our group of four for being "great fans of the game." I think that's one of the best compliments anyone can give/get.

I may be hoping my Steelers win at the game today, but I AM PROUD TO BE A LOSER!!!

I was up .5 lb last week at Sunday's weigh-in. Today I am down 3.5 lb. I know it is because I am logging my food and being accountable for what I'm putting in my mouth... Not just that though... I AM MOVING MY BODY IN NEW AND EXCITING WAYS!!!

I really do love My Fitness Coach. Between that and the Bootcamp workouts with Coach Nicole my body is being challenged again. I am still walking some every day, but this was what my body needed to break out of it's pudgy little mold.

I'm off to the Steeler game now... I'm sure I'll be getting my heart rate up again!!!

I can't wait...

Saturday, January 17, 2009

I feel like this weekend positive things are happening! I am confident that my Steelers are going to beat the Ratbirds... I am caught up on Bootcamp workouts after taking Friday off... I've made good decisions in regards to my food choices all week... I can't wait to weigh-in tomorrow!

Whether the scale goes up or down, I know that I'm making steps in the right direction! I know that I'm not defined by that number alone, and I know that if I can keep up the hard work I will continue to reap the benefits. Don't get me wrong... I want the scale to go down!!! I also know that it is possible that I could improve my measurements and overall fitness, as well or instead of moving the scale. I KNOW there are other things that could brand me a "winner" even if the scale doesn't budge... Better than anything else is the fact that I have a really positive attitude about what I'm doing. I can't say that I will always do the Bootcamp videos on a daily basis, but I now have them saved in my favorites, and I think I would group them together and do them several times a week even when the challenge is completed. I think my body feels stronger and I feel more confident just from the two weeks that we've all been on this journey. For me, that feeling is priceless... Between Maya and MFC and Bootcamp, I am ready to make my goals a reality this year!

I can hardly believe that you would be rooting for the Steelers and at Heinz Field none the less...rofl...lol. Dress warmly and know that my heart is with you and DH. However, I will root for them in the warmth of my living room. Enjoy this long weekend!

I've started decking out the living room with my black and gold and I plan to watch the game and tailgating from the kitchen...grilled chicken and veggie kabobs on the ol' George Forman!
Have fun and TRY to stay warm...HERE WE GO! emoticon
