Running again...

Wednesday, September 09, 2009

It's been a couple of weeks since I can honestly say I "ran" in the truest sense of the word. I have been race walking a lot, and every once in a while, I will break into a jog, but it's not a sustained jog for any real length of time. Since the next 5K is just around the corner on September 19th, and I still haven't decided for certain whether I am running or walking, I decided to let my body make the determination this time around. So today I did some running intervals. I would run for 3 1/2 minutes then walk briskly for 1 1/2 minutes. I did this for 20 minutes and covered a little over 2 miles with a 5 minute warm up and cool down. I'm going to try to get intervals in again at least three more times before race day and gauge where I'm at... Stay tuned...

I read today's "Healthy Reflection" and had a moment... They do happen for all of us at some point! emoticon

The quote was "Attitudes are contagious. Is yours worth catching?" Until last week, I would have said DEFINITELY... Even at times today, I would still have said yes. I guess I do have to acknowledge that I am letting others affect me. I CANNOT ALLOW THAT TO HAPPEN. Letting that happens gives them control over me. It gives them control over how I feel, how my day goes, and how I behave. I WON'T ALLOW THAT TO HAPPEN.

So as of today, I am going to reaffirm my commitment to reclaim my attitude that is worth catching. I will work hard (struggle even if necessary) to overlook the behaviors of others that aren't worth catching and to show the world an attitude that I HOPE and PRAY to have reflected back to me.

Thanks to all for reading... I hope you all are blessed today and every day!

Positive attitudes and positive thinking will get you where you want to go!!! Your courageous attitude is definitely contagious and is worth catching. DO NOT let others affect you attitude... DO NOT give them that kind of control over you. They are not worth it...but YOU ARE!!! No matter what, you are your father's daughter!!! (Well and mine too.) Always remember that!!! Look 'em in the eye and take back control!!
Love your attitude anyway!! Do not let anyone take it away!!
Love and hugs,

That was so awesome. It really got me thinking of how I have let others attitude or comments dictate my feelings and my life.
You really opened my eyes and gave me great motivation and inspiration.
Thank You my Friend.
Lots of Love and Blessings to you!!
Keep up that positive thinking and you can really succeed.!!! emoticon emoticon

The only person we can do anything about and the only person we can change is ourself. Keep the attitude positive, do what you can do and don't stress over the rest.

Healthy living to you!!

It took us about 1.5 hours this morning to wash dishes and break camp. Then we were on the road and headed home. We didn't stop at all until the Cumberland, MD exits. We ate at Bob Evans, and I made the mistake of ordering iced tea. The ride was pretty miserable after that... Tea always make me need to urinate for some reason. It must be the caffeine... It doesn't do that when I make tea at home (where I only make herbal). I felt HORRIBLE for DH who had to stop for me. It is more difficult to pull in and out of places when hauling the camper of course. Either way, we made it home safe!

I was SO glad to be home. We did have a great time relaxing together, but it is nice to play with my puppy... She surprised me by finally showing off her new trick on command tonight. So it was definitely a GREAT night!!!

Tea does the same thing to me. I think for every cup I drink I pee a gallon or at least that is the way it feels. I don't know if it is the caffeine since I drink coffee all day long it doesn't do it to me.

Glad to hear you had a good time. You have to let us know what the trick is that your puppy has learned.

Brightest blessings and warm hugs.

Caffeine does that to me too. So long drives I make sure not to drink it.

At least Joe is getting an education one way or the other!!! I wonder who it could have been at Chris's??? Very curious!

The pedometer was very helpful. I do like it. Not sure it is worth me having all the time since I can't wear it to work... emoticon Don't let that stop you from ordering the latest and greatest though!

Welcome home dear child. As you can tell by Phoenix's reaction to your being home, you were definitely missed!!! I am sure she was glad to see you and that you are home!!! Maybe she was practicing her new trick on her own while you were gone. Now she can get back on her schedule. Mini vacation is over for everyone. Joe is getting really good pulling that camper, you are giving him many chances to learn all he would ever need to know about it!! lol Is there a greater way to get an education than by doing it? Trial and error can not be learned from a book!!! lol Bring on some more tea!! Just kidding.
BTW...someone was in Chris's and said you looked just like your dad but she couldn't remember who it was. So of course, Chris was very inquisitive... Just thought I would mention it.
Glad you had the pedometer to log those steps. Do you like this one? If so you can keep it because I will order one plus extras that I saw on Amazon. Just let me know.
You are quite welcome and I love you dearly also!!!
Tons of love and lots of hugs,

WaterWorks and Closing Down the Park...

Saturday, September 05, 2009

We got up early and went to the park... We discovered that WaterWorks doesn't open until 12 pm. So instead of thinking lemons, we made lemonade and rode the regular water rides. I really enjoyed the "log flume" ride. It wasn't as good as Kennywood's because there were only two "slide" parts, but it was still fun. I even struck up a conversation with the operator because I was carrying my National Guard bag. He was expressing his excitement that he can re-up in 10 days... We did get into WaterWorks right as it opened. We quickly rode the Tornado twice before the line got really long. Then we rode the Zoom Flume twice also. We were waiting for the rides around "Pipeline Peak" to open. They had a water pump go out. We did get to ride both of the tube slides and the body slides there. I only rode the one body slide (of two) and only once. I forgot how much I HATE them. I smacked my head and felt all the creases in the slide joints. I MUCH prefer the tube slides. Anyway, we were feeling the effects of the sun and hungry at 3 pm. We made our way toward the front gate and took the shuttle back to the campground to eat a late lunch. We also napped for about an hour. Then we were up and ready to go again. We went back to the park and rode all of our favorites again. I also got Joe to go on Grizzly (which wasn't as bad as I remembered) and Hurler (which was MUCH worse than I remembered). We headed out of the park at 9:45. All in all... It was a GREAT day. Back at the camper relaxing now...

    Hey Pooh Bear!

Sounds like you had a fantastic time. I have never been to a water park but would sure like to go. I'm not sure about it at my age, but I would be willing to give it a try.
Where is the one you went to at? I wonder about all the different rides you went on? Camping too...what great fun. Those are things I love to do. Been thinking of you alot lately. Glad to find your blog. Take care friend.

WOW!!! What a fun-filled day you had...practically closing up the gates. Did they tell you just to pull them shut behind you? lol It sounds like you need to be relaxing. Actually looking at the clock, you should be asleep. How many steps (or miles) did you get in today? Everything is fine on the home front!! Phoenix and I went for two walks today and just kicked back tonight!!! She just laid beside me and slept. Glad to see that you guys are having fun...anyone need aloe for sunburns yet? Enjoy tomorrow whatever your plans may be. Know that I am thinking of you as always and pray that you stay safe.
Love and hugs being air-lifted straight to you.

King's Dominion...

Friday, September 04, 2009

Well, we made it through our first day at KD. Park was WONDERFUL today. It wasn't crowded. I REALLY love the Volcano, Flight of Fear, and Drop Tower. We rode those rides twice. We pretty much got everything else in though. We were both pooped at 5 pm. We waited for the shuttle to come pick us up so we could return to the campground. I made dinner and DH fell asleep. He doesn't seem to be feeling very well. I'm just tired at this point. I feel okay though. We are going to try to spend tomorrow in the WaterWorks side of the park. It was VERY hot today, but tomorrow is supposed to be hotter...

Have a great night all!

I will be going to Kings Dominion on the 19th of Sept. with my 2 young adults and 5 of their friends. I know I will be exhausted by the end of that day just like you. The season will be closed, but my sister company is renting the park out for employees and there guest for the day. And I looking forward to riding and screaming. LOL
