Well, Bootcamp Day 2 is done... AND I KICKED IT'S A$$!!! emoticon

My only comment tonight is really one regarding the universe... I had vegetable fried rice for dinner (small size) and decided to go ahead and eat my fortune cookie... Which said... DRUM ROLL...

"There are no shortcuts to any place worth going."

If that doesn't sum up my current journey in a nutshell (or cookie-shell as the case may be), I don't know what does.

I know I'm not going to get the fitness "payoffs" that I want if I don't put in the work.

SO... See you all back here tomorrow!!!

    That fortune cookie is so right..."There are no shortcuts to any place worth going." If you want something to happen, you have to do what you can to make it happen...it doesn't get done just by wishing. Your payoff for all your hard work will be great...self respect will only be part of it...weight loss and stronger muscles are minor payoffs...lol.

Rave for the Day -- Plus Day 1 New You Bootcamp Bonus Challenge...

My rave for the day today is that I did the Day 1 Cardio Kickboxing Workout video, 30 minutes with My Fitness Coach, and 90 minutes of walking! I'm beat, but I feel great about myself for sticking with it!!!

This month, with the help of the challenge, I hope to lose at least 5 pounds... My starting weight for the challenge is 176. More than that, I hope to meet and exceed every exercise goal set by the challenge. I know that I can do that... If I do, success for the fitness goals I've set (and weight loss as a side effect) will surely follow!!! I'd like to be at or below 165 by the end of the month, but a 5 pound loss with the muscle that I hope to gain would be phenomenal!!!

My current measurements are...

Left Biceps -- 11
Chest -- 43.5
Waist -- 37
Hips -- 42
Left Thigh --25

    You go girl. Instead of kickboxing, you are kicking butt!!! It's no small wonder that you're tired, but it is a good tired, isn't it? Keep up the great work. I am proud of you too. Remember if you can't do something, just modify it to your ability. Work it to suit yourself as needed.

Rave for the day... The Power of Spark!

I love when a day holds new surprises... It is like a present that you weren't expecting! Through Spark I have met some really great new people... People who have supported me in my goals. Sometimes that has meant kicking my butt when it needed it, and sometimes it has meant cheering me on when I'm doing all the right things.

So my rave for the day is... In the last 48 hours (and I'm going to credit the PITA Bootcamp for it), I've made several new SparkFriends! These are people that make me laugh, make me smile, share similar struggles, share the same outlook on life... WHATEVER! Great people all of them!!!

It's just always great to know that I have friends and partners on this journey that I'm undertaking, and I'm always pleasantly surprised to find a new friend traveling the path with me...

    AMEN!! The friends I have met since joining Spark People are unbelievable. They have been there for me through all the ups and downs... praying for me, supporting me, kicking my butt...whatever my need, I know that I can count on them!!!

Rave and Mini Rant for the Day...

Ha! So you all thought I was going to make my very first ever blog a positive one... Boy were you wrong!!! Okay... Slightly wrong... Today I'm going to say one thing that I did right today, BUT I am FORCED to add a mini rant as well...

I decided today was the day to bust open "My Fitness Coach" and get my butt in gear... Partly in preparation for the New You Bootcamp that I signed on for. Anyway... After going through the grueling test (I'm not kidding!) to help my personal trainer Maya figure out what my fitness level is... I actually got to exercise... I was already tired at that point! I had done jumping jacks for two minutes (and doubled my heart rate from resting 60 bpm to 120 bpm) and 30 squats. I didn't want Maya to think I was too in shape or she would try to kill me... Of this I am positively convinced! So I decided to follow Maya's recommendation (to lose weight) which meant that I ended up completing the 15 minute cardio routine, and then I tacked on the 15 minute flexibility routine. I was PUMPED and proud that I stuck with the "game" and got some exercise today. emoticon

And on to my mini rant... The New You Bootcamp is going to be the DEATH of me!!! Don't get me wrong... I think it's a GREAT thing... But these emails... ACK!!! Save me soon please!!!

    haha. i felt similar this morning when i did 30 day shred. if it's not bob trying to kill me, it's jillian.

those e-mails definitely are getting annoying. last bootcamp i just turned off e-mail alerts & got the workouts through spark mail. hopefully they'll do that again. it's amazing how many people just don't listen. (that was my mini-rant.)

    I am here to save you from yourself and all the craziness. I also want to say that I have proof positive that you did all that crazy exercising with the Wii lady, MAYA, as I was there and actually got to watch and participate in part of it. You are definitely getting ready for boot camp!!! I hope we can survive it...if we do, we will be fine looking young ladies, now won't we. Well you will, I still be old. hahaha
I am proud of your first blog. IT IS SO YOU!!!
