I had some thoughts on my 3 mile walk last evening that I'd like to share. I know, those long walks give me too much time to THINK...might wear out my poor ol' brain.
Anyway, here are my rambling thoughts. We always say we didn't put the weight on overnight, we can't expect to take it off overnight. This got me thinking about how long it has taken me each time to gain weight. The first time was during and after my pregnancy with my youngest daughter. That would be 25 years ago that I started gaining...it took me at least 5 years to gain to where I was when I started Weight Watchers the first time. I lost 62 lbs. in 7 months and reached my goal weight. So, what took me 5 years to gain, only took me 7 months to lose. Same thing when I lost weight the second time, I think it had been 10+ years since I first started Weight Watchers and had gained some of that weight back. I know I lost 30+ lbs. in just a few months time. Now, it's taken me another 10 years to gain it back, plus an extra 30 lbs. At the start of this year, I needed to lose 60 lbs. again. I'm sure not going to let it take 10 years!
When I thought on this and put in my warped perspective, it sure doesn't take as long to lose the weight as it does to put it on. Basically, in the past, I have taken the weight off overnight (less than a year) compared to the time it took me to gain it (5-10 years). For some reason, this gave me a lot of hope and inspiration. I can do this, WE CAN DO THIS!
