Learning to like being a tortoiseWednesday, December 29, 2010As I weighed myself this morning, I was happy to see that my weigh is down two more pounds and I now weigh 217! I was thinking of a story I heard as a little girl about the tortoise and the hare and how although the hare was racing fast, it was the tortoise who won the race in the end because he ran slow and steady. I had come to the realization that when it comes to losing weight, it is better to be a tortoise than a hare. By losing weight slowly, this increases your chances of keeping the weight off permanently. I'm enjoying the slow weight loss and can hardly wait for the day when I step on the scale and it reads 200. I just got to keep eating right, monitoring my calorie intake, and exercising and I know I'll get there soon. ![]()

Hello... I have been in search of a Spark Friend that is about my height with the same weight goals. I am 6 feet tall and currently weigh about 225. One-derland seems like a far away place to me. I see your goal is to be 152. Many of my family members told me that that weight goal was unrealistic for me. I wear a size 12 shoe. So the standing joke is what will I do with all these feet if I get that small. Nonetheless, do you have a point of reference for a woman our height at that weight. Looking forward to hearing from you. Charlene Comment edited on: 1/8/2011 2:37:52 PM Report Inappropriate Comment |

After several months of sticking to my vegan lifestyle, eating less, and exercising more, I am happy to report that I now weigh the same number that's on my driver's license: 219! Now, I'm aiming to get down to 200lbs and will then be on my way to my healthy weight of 152. Although I'm still searching for a job, it's good to know that all of my hard work is starting to have some positive progress.
