What a Week!

Friday, April 15, 2011

It was a fast week! Busy with real estate and the free groceries. Not enough hours in a week now. What a difference 6 months can make. It all depends on how active you can be, how long the week. When I could not do anything a week was like a month. This week was like 3 days. Not complaining, but excited that I can be busy again, do my own laundry, cook my own meals and work to boot. I can remember when I though if I had someone else to do those things it would be great. (It was, because I couldn't at the time.) You really get an appreciation for something when you can no longer manage it. Good news, now I can for the most part and keep getting stronger and more able every week.

Have also been learning to how to market on the internet. That is a whole new ballgame. Very interesting. Great week and looking forward to relaxing a bit this weekend. God is good and I am amazed how much he can bless a person.

It was a WOOHOO Day!

Wednesday, April 06, 2011

Did not walk 1/2 hour on the beach, but walked a quarter of a mile without oxygen!!! The weather was perfect today, cool in the morning and warm in the afternoon. I used to walk the beach with regularity before my health problems and have missed it tremendously!!
Today was a red letter day and I plan to continue the walks until i build up to 1/2 hour.

God has blessed me in so many ways! This was a truly a blessing today.

I wish I could walk with you. The oncologist told me to start walking 2-3 miles a day. Hipefully the last drain will come out Friday and I can start driving again. Have been off the pain meds for 3 days and love being clear headed again.

No Inflation??!!!

Saturday, April 02, 2011

My first question is where? Not where I live. Gas prices continually rising, groceries, any service call you need is out of site.

Just in this month's bills the TV cable has raised the prices on their boxes - had all but one removed. Did you know you can still get 90 channels without a box?? Why have they never told me that before?? Cell phone increased, and then I got a bank statement that is suppose to be free with a monthly charge. When I inquired, now all banks are charging monthly fees on free checking unless you keep $1,000 (interest free in your account). Health insurance has become insane with this new Obama health care program. Home and car insurance is just nutty. What did I miss?? They keep saying there is no inflation, please someone tell me where that is, because it is not in Florida. The unemployment rate just went down 5% to 11.5% here and the housing market is about 55% percent of what it was in 2005, but these are the only decreases I am seeing.

FL is really hurting, I agree. One thing though, the health care you say you're paying too much for, isn't scheduled to take affect until 2012. I don't know if our governor had a health business in your area, but he did at our county's only hospital. How he left it, is criminal. I don't expect the state to be in any other condition as our hospital was left.

As far as the cable goes, that is one of the reason we changed to satellite. Each month our bill changed upward - that and it was difficult to get a straight answer from them!!

I agree with witchen. For my insurance coverage and Bob's medicare supplement, we are paying over $600/mo. We still have to pay 20% of our bills and have no dental, no eye care, and no prescription coverage! I really wish all the federal and state government had to have the same policies we did!!

Pat, I'm sorry for getting on my high horse on your blog, but I am so fed up with all the greed and inhumanity going on in this country at this time.

Pat, at our bank, we only have to pay that extra fee on our free account if we opt for a mailed statement rather than getting it in email.

Year of 2011

Friday, April 01, 2011

Thank goodness with all the storms yesterday, no appreciable damage. 2011 is sure shaping up to be a better year for me. Am only on oxygen when I am at the gym. Not having any problems living alone again. God is good and he has shone his goodness on me in abundance.

Beautiful Sunny Sunday!

Sunday, March 13, 2011

We have been so bless this year in Florida with the best weather! Can open the windows and the sliding doors out to the pool. Have not had to put on heat or air conditioning in the last 30 days. Not too often you get to have this type of weather anywhere.

Sadness and prayers for the people who have experienced the wrath of the elements, Japan, Hawaii, California, New Orleans (flash floods).

You got that right Pat! It is great to live in Florida! It is heart wrenching what has happened to all, especially in Japan! Even Australia has experienced a monsoon recently...some more flooding! Just sad!

I agree! We are so blessed to live in Florida with this gorgeous weather. I am keeping the people of Japan in my heart as I go throughout my day. The whole situation is just so sad and devastating.
