I'd love the chance to compare my happiness levels at those points too. emoticon

Ultimately money alone does not grant happiness, whether we have little or much. Material possessions alone do not grant happiness. It truly comes from within. A happy person could be without money and find happiness in something small such as a smile from a stranger. A miserable person could have millions, every dream and desire satisfied, and never once feel happy.

Clearly he meant it to be a joke. I will take it seriously: Happiness is an attitude, which can be lost even though seemingly there is no reason for that. Also, happiness can be acquired, even though seemingly the conditions are miserable. It is about how the brain interprets the self and its interaction with the surroundings; a lot of satisfaction derived from living a particular life can cause happiness even though the general outlook of that living does not seem too appealing to other people.
