Today started out unusual. When I was checking emails and saying good morning to my teams, I heard a big boom and my apartment shook-BAD. I went and checked outside, and seen nothing, looked in son's room and he was just sleeping away. So wasn't sure what happened. Then son called me at work a couple hours later and asked if I heard a big boom. Told him yes, and felt it. Come to find out, a house had blown up maybe 3 miles from us. I cry for this family. As the day went on we found out through the news that this grandmother and grandfather had finally got to build their dream home, but the grandfather passed away in may, just 6 months before the home was finished. So one of her grandson's, 21 years old, moved in with her. They both passed away. One of the daughters lived in her mom and dads old home, just behind where the explosion occurred. So sad :( I pray for this family and I ask that you do also. They believe it was their propane furnace is to blame.

Besides for that, my day has been good. My eating was right on...hit perfect on my nutrition report except i was too low on fat...ok, i'm not complaing...lol. I also did get some exercise in. wohoo!!! Also, i did have to work a little over, but not much...only about a half hour....though tomorrow may be different :(

Today's goals:

Beautiful-The sun setting over the water

DYN: today i learned about a family i don't know, but has deeply touched my heart.

Laugh: my son so worried about dinner and then wasn't hungry...lol...teenagers!!

Blessings-Got some exercise in and stayed within calories.

March In Like A Lion

Ok, maybe not weather wise...but work wise, which means physical wise. My goals for March, on top of my already daily goals was to get some more me time and more exercise... and then...i work a straight 14 hour day with no lunch break. This lead to less exercise and more eating....whoa!!! wrong way here...so for the rest of the week, i will be taking a break...i will still have to work 14 hours...but i am going to take a break!!!

So yesterday, we started out the day with thunderstorms... lots and lots of rain...and with the melting snow...floods enough to close some roads. Now let me begin by setting the scene. The end of the month is always our busiest time. More customers to service with a lot more freight than normal. Now start this day with a storm and flooding. A couple drivers called off, then one of other local terminals flooded and had to move their operations to our terminal. We are barely big enough for our own stuff, now we are putting a terminal that normally does twice the stuff we do into it. So the phones are going crazy, people are coming in that I have to greet...and my son calls. He overslept and did not go to school and he went to make lunch...and no water...NO WATER... look outside, we have plenty of water...he said no, no water is coming out of the facets. So i give him the phone number to the landlord so he can call....with a 5 minute discussion on why he has to call and i can't...all while picking up the other calls and greeting people coming in...i do get to go to lunch, where i went to walmart to pick up some fruits and veggies...then back to craziness. Son texts me to say landlord didn't answer but he left a message. I then text landlord to see if he got the voicemail. Finally I get to leave work and 1/2 hour over when i was suppose to leave. they wanted me to come back, but there was just no way. Landlord finally answered and came over to find the basement totally flooded and the pump along with the electric to it submerged in water. It's going to be sometime tomorrow (which is today) to be able to fix it....Thank God i bought some at walmart yesterday.

Luckily today, the other terminal moved back home, though not until later in the day, and the one night girl is off...the combo being why i worked 14 hrs today. Also our water is up and running freely again...wohoo!!! and to top it all off...my son not only made dinner, but served it to me...i'm one lucky girl :)

Laugh: at my ex-terminal manager-he loves to stir up trouble and we end up arguing like kids

Wow that does sound like a crazy day. And I can' honestly say that I can relate to that. When I was working as an assistant manager at a Taco Bell, I would go in at 7 in the morning and would only be scheduled until 5 but wouldn't get out of there until 6:30 or 7 and there were times that the manager that was to come in to take over would call off at the last miunte and then would sometimes get stuck working open to close. Getting a food break there for me sometimes was next to impossible sometimes. We were to make that all the crew members got their breaks and we were last or just grab it when we could. Sometimes I would eat the food there, but a lot of days I would take yogar, or fruit and never got to eat it and it would be there for the next 2 or 3 days for me until I did get to eat it...lol. But one thing for sure, we have to learn to take time out of our busy schedule for our selves, and eat, is there a way you can maybe take some celery sticks or baby carrots and nibble on them through out the day, that would be a great way to make sure that you get a chance to eat and that its a healthy snack to. Yikes, That's a crazy day!!! Hope they are able to get the flood waters out of your basement!! I should say March came in like a Lion for you guys!! Same here... just in a different form of craziness (see the blog I posted last night!). Here's hoping the rest of March is calm and goes out like a Lamb for both of us!! ps-- that's so cool that your dd and ex- managers wife are 2 weeks apart in their pregnancy!! you & ex- manager arguing & acting like teenagers.... I have gone way off track, and decided today to kick it back into high gear. Eating wise, i did awesome...ran my nutrition report and I was right where i should be on EVERYthing... wow... that feels good :) Exercised some, but not as much as i should...but i am at least moving :)

Laugh: laughed a lot at work.

Today food wise was BAD!!! I made some really bad choices...chinese food gets me everytime :( but I know where i failed and will just have to remember it. Exercise wise I did good and kept on goal.

As for the rest of my goals:

Laugh: girl at work and i talking about our teenagers
