Glad you are feeling better, but give yourself some extra TLC. I had something (not H1N1) and was sick for 10 days and am still not back full force after two weeks.
Thanks for the chuckle, too.

Quote For The Week

Saturday, October 17, 2009

Ninety-nine percent of the failures come from people who have the habit of making excuses.
- George Washington Carver

I just got this in one of my emails today...and wow...does it hit home... i have gained 4 lbs over the last couple weeks...my house has gone down hill...and my quitting smoking...yea... right...and the money problems keep escalating... i can give you a hundred excuses for each of these... and valid ones at that...but the fact of the matter is...life is life...life happens... and the only way it's going to change is if i change it...and stop allowing those excuses to stand in my way... work is always going to be part crazy part stressful...my kids will always be my kids...i will never have enough time nor energy... and the bills...will always be there... which..is a good thing...cause...that means i have the things we need...a roof over our heads... electric...heat...and food... so...instead of using these valid excuses stop me...i'm going to work through them...and with them... wohoo!!! i think i'm ready!!!

I knew something was going on. Take one day at a time and tackle one problem at a time. Just like FlyLady. Break everything down in small pieces. I know beinga sigle mom can be really overwhelming. I remember people asking me how I did it with 3 kids and working full time. You just do it, what's the alternative! You can do this!

Wow!I know God sent me here for a reason. Like my computer, I need a good Reebooting every once in awhile to and get back on the straight and narrow. I too have been in a slump lately. Total Knee Replacement has been extremely painful. It is the last thing I need to do is gain weight I have lost. It is such a selfloathing feeling to go on a week long eating binge because the pain just gets to me so bad, and I just lose all self control. But reading what you guys are going through and doing something about it, gives me so much ecouragement to begin a fresh beginning. Good luck to all and GodSpeed. Carlin emoticon emoticon

Excuses are only that ... excuses. Reasons are better ... so find reasons to kick those excuses to the curb. Everyone has hills and mountains to climb and we will all climb our mountains and yell and hoot at the summit. I have gained weight over the last week and a half too. My "exucse" is ... "I had to eat on the road" We all know that we can eat healthy on the road ... I just didn't choose to and now I have to kick it up another notch. The holidays are coming up and so many of us use that as an "excuse" to eat and eat. We need to keep our reasons to choose better choices handy. We can do this, yes we can, yes we can, yes we can!!!

Yes, there are always excuses we use. I know lots of them too. But you just have to jump back on the wagon an never give up. WE CAN DO THIS. Love the blog. We have all been there done that. emoticon emoticon

I Hate Eczema & Allergies

Thursday, October 01, 2009

ok..so for the past 6 weeks...i have been swollen and just down right feeling icky... i've tried everything...including what the doctor says...i know...pretty bad huh...lol.... anyways... the thing is...i still feel like poo and my skin is the worse it's ever been.... i just cannot afford to go to any more doctors...even with only a co-pay...it's more than i have... so that is not an option...but my skin is sooooo raw... mostly my face...so not like i can soak it in an oatmeal bath...though...that might still be an option later on...lol.... the good news is, that i think i have the allergies thing figured out...which means my exzema will clear up also...so double good news....the bad news...it's the work place emoticon uh...so this isn't good.... it's not like i work in some factory...i have a pretty cushy office job...it's cleaned twice a week...so no dusties....no signs of critters.... nothing that i can tell even new or different...but i do know that when i was off for 4 days, i felt good again...my skin was clearing up...now third day back and i'm even worse than before... so yea...it's the job... can't say it's even the stress...the weekend was more stressful than work had been... sooooo...while i'm still trying to figure out what the heck is setting this all off at work...i need to find some relief...ok...so at this point... soaking my face in oatmeal water is sounding pretty good....lol.

It could be the work stress, it could be scents that people wear. Cleaning supplies used in your work space, a plant on your desk... Consider wiping down your desk when you arrive. Get a air purifier for your desk. (I was allergic to the pine scented air infuser beloved of my boss at the position second before last. )

Drink lots of water and go ahead and take full quantity of allergy meds as much as possible. (so you are still safe for driving)

Hint from one who knows.. Axid. Is and acid reducer, yet it's an non-drowsy antihistamine. It block another kind of histamine and make my skin less reactive. If you use scents... stop, anything that bothers you once in a while avoid it. It's like you have a allergic load, and you need to keep your reactions to the minimum...

Good luck. I hope you don't end up having to retire.

Emma

Oh Kitty!! I have terrible allergies too and while my skin is crazy sensitive I don't have eczema....I say if the oatmeal helps go for it. I think I would just make a paste and put it on like a mask. Think of it as your own special itch-relief facial!! emoticon
About the job and the allergies I have questions: How old is the building? Has the A/C been turned off or the heat turned on recently? It could also be that because its the end of the season they really need to change the filters in the A/C units. Dust and mold in climate control systems is a MAJOR cause of allergies. Are you taking anything that helps at all? When my allergies get to severe for just my prescription alone my doc says I can supplement with OTC stuff and that helps A LOT. I had horrible hay fever in the spring. Everything thought I was sick and spreading some horrible cold but it just took me a week to get enough antihistamine in my system to beat out the pollen overload.
Hang in there. Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help. emoticon

Oh,Kitty I to am sorry to hear you are having such a rough time with the Allergies & Eczema. Earlier this year I was having my own issues with Allergies. It sucks that it is something where you work that is causing this allergic reaction. I hope it is figured out soon for you and you get relief. I have never had Eczema so I hope the Oatmeal does help.
Is there anything I can do to help you out on LAP? Just let me know I am here for you. Take care my friend.

Gentle air hug!

Sorry to hear that. I know that my allergies get pretty bad at work too. I work in an office that has no windows and the air is pushed through the ventilation. Hopefully you can find out what is triggering it soon!

Sunday, September 27, 2009

I am so blessed to have a couple wonderful teams that i am lucky enough to be co-leader of... but i really want to give a shout out for the Losing And Playing team.... i see people with many problems that not only challenge themselves, but each other...to strive for our very best...they give of themselves unconditionally...they not only meet the challenges, but exceed them....and not only for them...but for each other...this buddy challenge has been just that...a challenge...we all know when we start working on something, that something will go crazy...this has been the case for most of us...but...as a team...we keep on keeping on... we keep moving forward....

and as for team #1...yea...we are awesome :)
