Family Vacation-Part 2

Friday, August 07, 2009

By now, we are getting a little tired....a little cranky, and a whole lot of slap happy... so at any given time, one of us could be yelling...and/or more points, all at the same time...on leg 2 of our vacation, it only got

On Wednesday, we had only planned on 2 things...

We first went to Wagon Trails in Vienna, OH. Where you ride on a bus through a family owned farm of Safari animals. You can feed and touch them. It was neat, but seeing kids and adults alike squeal when the animals got was just too cute.

We then went to Jibb Jabb's Hot Dogg Stand in Girard for dinner. It was a place we had found last year on our way home from vacation and knew while we were in the neighborhood, that we just had to stop this year.

This is all we had planned....but what we then did was go to New Baltimore, OH for ice cream...yum...homemade ice cream...and there small is more than enough for any one person...We then went and played on the playground...yes, even

Then off to Hartville to visit Quail Hollow State Park. by now, we are all ready for bed... but couldn't resist a little walk around. My mom and nieces took a trail walk (were by the way, they got and my kids and i ventured toward the Manor.

The house wasn't open, but we are already planning a sunday trip so we can tour the house :)

we then went grocery shopping for the food for the next day.

On Thursday, we went to Brandywine, located in Cuyahoga Valley National Park. I can't even begin to show all the beauty, but will show a couple pics.

by now, we had all worked off our picnic lunch and was ready for we planned on going to a drive in for a couple movies, so we stopped and got pizza and took it to Goodyear park to eat in the beauty of it all. We then stopped at mom's house for a quick cup of coffee and bathroom break and then off to see G-force and Harry Potter. G-Force was cute...and though i am not a big Harry Potter fan, will say this was a pretty good movie.

We got home about 2am...beyond tired and exhausted.... and...ready for our last day where friends and family will meet at Goodyear park for a day of food and games... and a concert tonight.

Family Vacation-Part 1

Friday, August 07, 2009

I am dividing the vacation into 2 parts and will add the final day (today) tomorrow. We done so much and i want to share some of our pictures. So here goes.

On Sunday, after church, we stopped at Shoney's for lunch/dinner and then made our way to New Philadelphia, checked into our hotel and then went to Tuscora Park.

and saw an awesome concert were we all did a little was a jazz/blues band, not our usual style, but good just the same.

We then went back to hotel for an hour of swimming and hot tub.

On Monday we went to Marietta to tour a Castle. Interesting, and with lots of history, but i am also looking forward to touring more castles in the future.

We then drove around for a bit before heading to dinner at Denny's and back to the hotel for more swimming and hot tub. After that was closed, we went to Walmart to pick up a few things since our original plans did not include this night at the hotel. But we were finding so much to do in this area, we decided to stay on. With us, a plan is never concrete and can change at the whim of 2 adults, 4 teenagers and 1 10 yrs old who thinks she is a

On Tuesday, we went to Uricksville for a new water park that had just opened up. It was cute. It was a local attraction and not a big tourist thing, but that was just fine with us. Didn't cost a lot and everyone was usually within view. And all still had a wonderful time.

We then went to Hot Rod City, a diner/museum. Cute, and worth seeing, but a little overpriced.

We then headed home to spend a night in our own beds.

Stay tuned...Part 2 to follow...

Wow! That's quite an upbeat band that really plays well! We get more of the classical type of music at our local parks. Glad you got to enjoy this Kitty - you deserved this break after the rough few last weeks you have been thru! The lake looks so nice and relaxing too. emoticon

Go - Go!! That's you Hoochie cookie gal from the buck-eye state:) lol

Yup, mom's are great! I had to call mine this afternoon to see if she could babysit my kids tomorrow. My MIL was supposed to, but something came up at the last minute, and she cannot do it tomorrow. Of course my mom said yes.

Hope your son feels better soon!

Glad the doctor saw your son and was prescribed an antibiotic, but, Steroids??? Why? Gosh Kityy, why do the docs give steroids to the little ones? I would question it. Hope he does not get wired. Heres' praying for him that he gets well quickly. Thank god for your Mom!

I hope he is feeling better soon. I'm glad you were able to get some medicine for him. Whenever I take my girls in they tell me it's a virus and has to run it's course...

He will be all better soon with the meds. I remember the "pathetic" look. My kids still get it when they want something and then crack up laughing when they do it. We call it the "sad puppy" look. lol This past weekend when they were all home my daughter did it when she said, "wow, mom hasn't made me that special surprise spread dip for so long, do you think she still loves me?". It worked, I made it and put a big note on top. "Mom still loves you". lol
