My Numbers-Where I At And Where I Am Going

Wednesday, May 13, 2009

Ok...i was checking out my "numbers" and i knew for sure i was morbidly obese...and probably super morbidly obese...but i wanted to know where i stood and where i was going... so i'm breaking down the numbers for my own eyes...to see how far i've gotten, and how far i have to go.

Underweight 19
Ideal BMI 19-25
Overweight 25-30
Obese 30
Severely Obese 35
Morbidly Obese 40
Super Obese 50

i started at 310 lbs which put me way over the super obese. This is the highest i have ever been in my life...and never to see again :)

I am now at 281 is still in super obese range...but i'm getting closer :) This is where i was when my divorce was final and i had started working for the first time again in 10 years.

I hope to be 250 by mid august-i will just then be hitting Morbidly obese. This is where i was when i started having children.

When i hit 200-i will be severely overweight...which is where i was when i became an adult and started collage.

When i hit 150-i will be just overweight...oh how i dream of those days again...uhg... can you believe i actually look forward to being just overweight?? lol. this is where i was most of my high school days.

130 is the goal i'm shooting for...right at the perfect level for me...1 lb more and it puts me back to overweight in fact...and to be honest...i almost can't remember ever being that weight...i know i was...probably right before jr hight school...

The numbers are startling...more startling is that i allowed myself to get to that point... but glad i seen it...so even though i am still at the super obesity level...i can see me shrinking and going back toward where i need to be... i can do it...i am doing it...

I found the calculator at Stop Obesity For Life:

That's the context I like to put it in! I remember crossing 200 right around the time I started college, and with any luck (and some hard work) I will be there again by the beginning of October, when I go to my tenth high school reunion!

Keep up the good work- you can look back at this and visualize your goals!

Now that your goals are clearly set before you, it's just a matter of keeping focused and not letting go of what you want. I know you can do it too, one kitty step at a time! :-)

All I can say is...WOW!!!

Monday, May 11, 2009

After being on SP for almost 2 years now...i have watched my weight slowly come off....and i do mean slowly....slow is good...but this was slower than a snail's pace... if i lost 1-2 lbs a month, i counted myself lucky... well i now on my third straight week of losing weight... this week a whole 4 lbs... and before anyone says that is too much... i would normally agree...but last week was my TOM...so i had water weight to get rid of also...i've also logged in over 8700 fitness minutes..for me...that is a big WOW! i can remember a time when my exercise consisted of taking a shower...and yes..i am serious...so again...all i can say is...wow!!

it will stay off. What kind of a
fitness program do you do ? I
try to extra walking now and
get into the gym when possible.

This is me as well. I have been on this journey for almost 3 years and the weight has come off but slowly. Sometimes 1 lb a month. But I haven't given up and I am only 6 lbs from my goal weight! Keep going and don't look back. You've come this far and you will acheive your goals. Slow and steady is my motto and slow and steady is a great way to go. It will help us both keep the weight off. emoticon

Yay for you! The scale plays see-saw with me, too, because some weeks I am excited that I have done great according to the nutrition and exercise tracking. The scale pops me back down when I'm not expecting it! The scale is an taunting playmate. I try to not concentrate on rapid losses. I just know I'm getting healthier and stronger(and having fun while working at it).

Congratulations! It IS a great feeling to drop the pounds just like that! Enjoy your week, Kitty! emoticon emoticon emoticon

WTG Kitty! I wouldn't worry about the 4 pounds this week. I know when I started, I lost 13 pounds in 2 weeks, just from quitting drinking soda and watching what I ate. Then I got into the 2-3 pound loss for a while. Now I have been holding steady, but I have really bumped it up too!

WTG!!! Keep up the great work!

Kitty, 4 pounds is not too much if you are eating properly and exercising. You are exactly correct when you say that the water from last week might of made a big difference this week. Thats why we shouldnt get totally upset if we gain a bit some weeks after we worked so hard. If you started to lose 4 pounds every week consistently I might worry a bit ... but still not if you were eating right and exercising. I think when they say 2 pounds a week at the most for a healthy weight loss they mean ... "don't calorie restrict so much that you are starving your body". I think you are doing amazingly fantastic and it makes me smile. You go girl. High 5!

Kitty's Week In Review

Sunday, May 10, 2009

I am proud of myself this week. I have kept to the minimum of aerobic exercise for the week, have kept to a minimum of moderate exercise this week, kept pretty close to my minimum calories (though most days have fallen under by a couple calories and 1 day did go over maximum), have drank at the very least 8 glasses of water, and have on most days read my bible. I have also gotten in other reading time each day. This week coming, i want to work a little harder to push above the minimum on exercises, and keeping within my calorie limits. Yes, i did do good, very good, but i also know i can do better, and this is what i will be striving for this next week :)

699

Friday, May 08, 2009

I just thought it weird that i had been on SP now for 699 days and have made to date, 21,699 posts...lol...

ok...besides that...this week has been pretty stressful... but we got through it. dd2 and i did walk twice this week...and i am keeping up with my other exercises...and eating well...along with other goals that i have set for myself.

The goals i have set for the coming week are:

2 hours a week of moderate exercise (this includes housecleaning) that is only 24 minutes a day for 5 days which i pretty much do anyways

3 hours of aerobic exercise a week-that is only 36 minutes a day for 5 days and i already do bike riding for 25 a day, so that is only 11 more minutes i need to add

Also, if i lost 2 lbs a week, every week, i could be down to 250 by the end of August... that will be the lowest i have been since my babies were born (the youngest is 15 1/2)

These are not impossible numbers...when broke down... tell me to do aerobics for 3 hours each week and i'll tell ya that it is impossible...i don't have time... don't have the energy... but broke down to 36 minutes in 5 days...and heck...it's not as difficult as 3 hours a week...lol...

Piece of cake ... ok wrong choice of words. LOL You can do it Kitty, I know you can. And to get down to what you havent been for at least 15.5 years in just 3 - 4 months ... well that is just fantastic! We'll have a big party when you hit 250. You bring the carrots and I'll bring the strawberries. We can shake our smaller booties to some old rock n roll. lol You're doing it Kitty. High 5.

You can do it. I find it easy to stay on the exercise bike if there's something I want to watch on TV. I don't think in minutes any more, I think in episodes of shows!
