Loving The New Daily Nutrition Feedback Report

Wednesday, February 25, 2009

I've been doing good this week...staying within calories...drinking my water... actually exercising...i'm getting my sleep and getting everything done that i want to...and checking into SP as often as possible and getting those points...gotta love those boy was i happy to see a new way to earn points...all i have to do is track my nutrition..which i should be doing anyway...right there is those lovely 5 points...and now...wohoo!!! the Daily Nutrition Feedback Report...i don't like that i'm not eating as healthy as i thought i was...though alot healthier than a year and a half ago....still..the report says i have a ways to go... but in doing so...i know what i need to change...and where to change it... and that makes me happy... yesterday was actually one of my best days...though...i did go over in sodium (a biggie for me) and over in fiber...fiber??? of all the because of the report... that is the best reading i have gotten thus far...and though the sodium part is still a biggie for me...i can see how off i am and what i need to do.... i am sooooo excited at this new addition....

Yes, the tracking feature is a great way to earn Sp points! Especially the cardio minutes! Plus, like you mention, learning whether you are getting enough of certain nutrients. Thanks to Nita, I'm back to tracking again!

I keep reminding myself how much this web site has to offer its members...besides all the wonderful support and friendships!

Hey Kitty! I too love this tool. YOu can trace what ever you like and get feed back like the most important for women, Calcium, Potassium and iron. Good Luck and very happy to note you are doing well with your nutrition. emoticon emoticon

Like I said in Nita's blog, I totally need to get back to tracking just for this feature. I'm not really concerned with my caloric intake, but the nutritional data is invaluable. I mean, really... that's pretty darn kewl.

The Monday Meditation Answers

Monday, February 23, 2009

This weeks meditation was about finding your way when you are lost... here is the main quote:

It may be when we no longer know what to do,
we have come to our real work, and that when
we no longer know which way to go,
we have begun our real journey.
~Wendell Berry

Here are the questions asked and my answers.

How do you feel when you feel "lost" or "directionless"?
Well, i will say, i don't really like being lost....but more times than not, i find the fun in it...and find a new way of whatever i am doing.

When does life give us most of our most important messages? When everything seems to be going very well, or in more trying times?
For's in the trying times...

What kinds of messages might we get when we don't know which way to go?
Sometimes...the best message is wait...and just shut

How do you deal with setbacks? Do you find them discouraging, or do they give you more resolve to work toward your goals?

For first it was discouraging...of course i kept telling myself "see, you can't do it" but the longer i'm on SP and the more positive self talk i give myself, i do find it better to keep find ways not to "fall" and pick myself up after it... and... the most important, to me, is to work with it when it happens... just cause i fall at one point during the day doesn't mean the whole day is blown...

I get a little down on myself, then get over it, and give myself a kick in the pants, LOL!

I find them discouraging, but I don't let them stop me from plugging on!

Nothing creates more setbacks for me than trying to lose weight! Being on Spark has taught me more about patience and perseverance and how important the phrase "keep plugging away" truly is!

I'm a firm believer in 'it's all in the baby steps.' When I try to do all my healthy living goals at once, I fail. Inevitably. But when I focus on one thing, then it becomes habit. Then I don't have to think about it much anymore. Once I achieve that, I move on to something else. And before you know it... you can look back and think 'wow - look how far I've come!'

You'll get to where you want to be... slowly, but surly. I have no doubt!

Lucky it was just the wall that needed repair and not your son! Good thing nobody has started sleep walking in your family (or have they? I guess the dancing during sleep might count. LOL)! That would be a little nerve-wracking! emoticon

Where Grandmother's Fly In The Night

Tuesday, February 17, 2009

To say a vacation, mini or otherwise, is an interesting adventure when it comes to my family would be a gross understatement.... lol....anything with my family is both way more than interesting and way more than an adventure...this mini vacation was no exception... trying just to sleep with this family can get down right hysterical...and this no starts like every other vacation... son complaining cause he does not want to sleep on the floor, the girls do not want to share a bed and nobody wants to sleep with me...i the only one that can sleep with me would be my dear long as i allow her to fall asleep we have all the arguing and complaining going on...and dd2 just has to sleep with me...though we remind her that i do snore...she swears she will be fine if i let her fall asleep we order a cot for son....grandma (my mom) climbs in bed with my 2 nieces, both bed hogs and kickers...and dd2 climbs in bed with me...i even had gone as far as suggesting that youngest dn put the chairs together to make her own bed...but oh no...that won't do...until everyone else is asleep that is...i had already had the one chair set up as a mini night stand...and everyone else was sleeping and no way to maneuver the chairs into a make shift i point and growl... she returns to bed...and finally goes to sleep...the next thing i know, dd2 is growling at me...i'm snoring...well duh... we know i do...and this is a suprise??? so now i'm awake and trying to get comfortable again...she snorts and pounds and tries to get away from me... she decides to go to the this point, my dn starts dancing...yes...dancing.... in her i have officially seen it all.... i've seen walking in people's sleep... and talking...and my girls would actually argue in their sleep...but dancing??? now i'm about ready to go into hysterical laughter at any moment... but fight the urge...turn around to fall asleep....and i feel somebody beside me... i turn to ask dd2 if she really wants to do that, to find my mother beside me... ok... that's it...i'm laughing now... this woman literally flew to her bed to mine....right over dd2...who did not realize grandma had done this until she sat up and growled "what are you laughing at" and in the same breath, ask grandma "how did you get there" now grandma is laughing hysterically... oldest dn wakes up to growl-"your all nuts" and ds...sleeps through it son... the vetran sleeper...

so when asked this morning how i could get an extra day off and be more tired than before...i laugh...and time YOU travel with my

all in was a good much sleep...but always... with the kitty family :)

Having so much crazy fun while taking a mini vacation with all your family, I'm sure, is worth every bit of tiredness you might feel the next day! So glad you had a great time, Kitty! And only in Kitty's world will you find flying grandmothers...I think! emoticon emoticon emoticon
