I picked one of the SECRETS OF SUCCESS today which was submitted by MRSRAM under the HEALTHY EATING section and was astonished it was selected more often. It reads and I quote here:
"The Eating Out Well
Every Saturday my parents take me out to lunch and I struggle to stay in my calories. So I decided to go to the restaurants we frequent the most and make a list in my planner of meal options that are less than 500 calories. I feel ready!"
I've found over the years that the reason why I'd started and stopped diets so often was because I always felt that it was asking me to give up so much of what I like most - more specifically eating the foods that I like. With SP the approach, to me, is so different and welcomed because moderation plays a big factor, but also understanding that this is a lifestyle and not a diet- what I've been striving for for a long time.
In my heart, I know there are foods I can live without, but life is life and I do go out and I will continue to eat out with friends, family and business associates. What I don't need to have to feel guilty about enjoying LIFE.
Preparation is one of the best ways to halt unwanted surprises. So find the foods that make you feel like you're eating decadently but without the guilt. Ask for the nutritional info on foods and, if you dare and I do, praise the cooks on good dishes and offer suggestions to make the dish healthier. Keep in mind, this is your life, your world and you'll never know what can be get if you don't ask for it!
