We are all masterpieces in progress with the goal to live a healthier lifestyle...We picked a long-term goal, then broke that down to into mid-term and short-term goals...We've examined what we eat, when we eat even how we eat (slowing down to savor our food, deliberate chewing)...We're drinking more water and exercising more often (making an appointment and keeping it) ...At one point or another we may have even hit the dreaded PLATEAU; you know when you're following your plan but more progress does not seem to be in your forecast so you change up your routine. When I became injured I took time and turned it into a maintenance phase (reduced weights in some cases, completely eliminated weights in others) and was still moving on along with incorporating new stretches and exercises to help strengthen the injury. Okay...well while I was doing all of that, and happy with the results, now that I am no longer in pain, and mentally prepared to move on I noticed the following: Given the level of exercising I was doing, I increased my caloric intake (currently at 1550-1900) and I'm maintaining it...To get to the next level I may need to increase my intake again...Time to revisit my resources to make this as smooth a change as possible, revise my eating and intensity level of my workout and revitalize my goals/plan to have the fuel to build more muscle.
Targeted time: week after Labor Day, give myself time to transition emotionally from dropping my little one off to college, and put my stop smoking plan back on track (have been off track for the last 3 days...not a lot, but need to stay where I am for the moment).
